The look of panic and fear on Mackenzie's face when he returned with the concerned look on his face made him wonder if there was something going on in her life that she wasn't sharing with him. He only shrugged when she asked him how long the blizzard might last and she nodded to his question about food. Smiling at her, he went back into the kitchen to see what he had to make.
Rummaging through the cabinets, he was reminded that they were indeed boys in this room and he hadn't planned on making food for a pretty girl he had feelings for or he would have gone shopping. A quick glance in the refrigerator and he saw some food his mother had sent back with him to easily reheat. Glancing over his shoulder at the pretty blonde who already looked worried as she came into the kitchen he looked at her phone and shook his head.
"But you can use mine to call him," he held out his own cell phone. Truth be told he despised Arcadias, something about him rubbed him the wrong way. As she started typing in the number he asked, "You're not a vegetarian are you?" She shook her head as she walked into the other room and he set to work cooking up something he was confident he could cook well. He probably should have asked her if she would object to eating kangaroo, but the other option was ramen.
It wasn't long before the scent of the cooking meat and spices filled the dorm and she came back in from his room. He was adding some more spices to the potatoes he'd found in the freezer when she sat in front of him at the counter.
"Everything okay with Arcadias?" he asked as he stirred the potatoes. He didn't actually give a fuck about the rich bastard, but she did.
"And don't ask what this is until you've tried it. I'm not going to tell you." He grinned at her playfully. "I made the mistake of telling Nacola what it was and she refused to eat it." He laughed and it was affectionate.
