This wasn't exactly Audrey's idea of a good time. The girls Early had allowed to drag her out weren't the most dependable of the female species. But Early had been so excited to be invited and then asked Audrey to come and she couldn't say no. So Audrey quietly went along with the gaggle of girls, getting ready with them, even helping a few of them with their make-up, because her normal classic style was 'so in.' And she was dating another prince, which apparently made her acceptable to hang out with. This irritated the mermaid, but she never let it show as she painted perfect winged eyeliner on Leslie's brown eyes, and patiently taught the clueless girls how to wear red lipstick without looking like an underage hooker or a clown. When it came time to dress, she refused to allow them to dress her. They demanded she wear her 'sluttiest' dress, and the mermaid had primly informed them she owned nothing 'slutty.' She did take out one of her more risque pieces, the red dress she had bought and worn for Maks' birthday. The girls had squealed over the slit and playfully called her a 'whore,' something Audrey couldn't understand why this was considered a thing of affection. But she smiled, for Early's sake.
Early was one of the few girls who had been her friend before, during and after James Ashton. So there was very little she wouldn't do for the other girl in the coven. They were dragged all over Halifax that evening, from club to club, bar to bar, the other girls laughing loudly and attracting attention wherever they went. Audrey quietly went along with them, drinking slowly, taking it upon herself to keep them all out of as much trouble as she could. She texted Maks as the night progressed, letting him know where they were and when, for her own peace of mind, more then his need to know. She just didn't trust the girls they were with and wanted her boyfriend to know exactly where they were in case she and Early needed rescuing.
They arrived at a dark Goth club called The Hellfire Club. She was also surprised at the new location, but found the atmosphere more to her liking. The dark beat was surprisingly soothing and hypnotic in comparison to the pounding bass of the last club. They were abandoned this time, and Audrey found that she breathed a sigh of relief. She was much more comfortable with just Early. At Early's suggestion of water, Audrey nodded and they walked towards the bar, turning heads as they did. Audrey stood out like a sore thumb, her brilliant red satin dress and pale skin the direct opposite of everyone else in the club. Early might have been uncomfortable in her shorter dress, but no one minded the view of her legs. They paused as Early noticed Hawke Valentine dancing with a tall thin blonde. Audrey followed her friend's eyes and couldn't stop the small smirk on her red lips. Early hadn't admitted out loud that she had a crush on the older boy, but Audrey could see how infatuated she was with just a look. And the way she waved, Audrey couldn't stop the soft laugh as the other girl blushed.
Then she seemed to remember they were getting water, Audrey took the other girl's hand and they made their way to the bar. Audrey glanced over her shoulder at Hawke, whose eyes were now trained on them. Or to be specific, Early. Audrey was still smiling as she turned and followed her friend to the bar. "Two bottles of water," Audrey ordered over the din of the club. The bartender nodded and soon two bottled of water appeared. Audrey paid the man, then they turned to survey the club.
"Looking for someone specific?" she teased the other girl as she looked around the club. But before she could answer, two human boys showed up in front of them. They seemed nice enough, and soon the two were on the dance floor, dancing with them. Audrey kept checking on her friend, to make sure she was okay, but Early seemed to be having a grand time with the boy she was dancing with and Audrey wondered if it was because she knew Hawke kept glancing at them and she was trying to make him jealous. If Audrey's view said anything, she would bet it was when the blonde couldn't keep his full attention.
