THREAD: Viva & Darragh
WHO: Viva & Darragh WHEN: November 15th, late evening around 11:00PM WHERE: Napa Valley, CA:(National Sunshine Series Horse Show) The Desert Princess Resort Club Hotel. Darragh's room. WHAT: Viva's 'date' ends in tears and she turns to Darragh.
The hallway was a blur as Viva moved quickly through past the few people walking through the posh club hotel. Her vision was blurred by un-shed tears, tears she refused to let fall anywhere near where Micheal mght see them. She was so stupid! How could she think for even a second that anyone in this industry would really be interested in her? It had been made clear most of her life that she was a freak, even among horse people, by her refusal to fit in and play by their rules. Why would someone like Micheal Hughes of all people, want to go out with her? Angrily she wiped at the offending tears as she blindly made her way to Darragh's room. She wasn't even sure why she was going to his room, why she was running to him when all this had happened. But she didn't have anyone else.
Micheal had asked her to go out with him and some of his friends, all her peers in the industry earlier that day. It had been the first time she had ever gotten an invitation to join those her own age, never mind by Micheal, who was a very attractive and talented rider with his own fan club and entourage. He and his friends hung out with only the best, and even though Viva had been beating them for years, she had never been accepted as one of them. Part of that had been her mother's way of coaching her, never allowing her outside of her bubble, keeping her close and protected, which made her appear even more stuck up and arrogant then she was. It hadn't earned her friends. Viva wasn't the most social of people either and her naivete had her accepting Micheal's date with a blush and a smile. She hadn't told Darragh about the date, probably for multiple reasons, but mostly she was afraid he would burst her bubble or tell her she couldn't go.
She got ready alone, texting a few pictures to Lordes for approval on her date look. The dress was one of many her mother had bought for her, that she never had a reason to wear. Her entire look was much more girly then was normal for the tomboy, leaving her blonde and pink hair down, but pulling back her bangs and wearing more make-up then just her normal lip gloss. The pale pink designer dress was short, but modest despite her long legs exposed. She met Micheal down in the lobby and had gone with him and some other riders out to dinner and a club. It was true they were all underage, but their riches and status gave them privileges others didn't always have, especially so near such a prestigious horse show. Dinner was perfect and Viva was feeling like she was finally part of them, that she had made it, was accepted. At the club she had a drink with the other girls and danced with Micheal, even though she was super nervous and felt awkward. When she excused herself to go to the bathroom, she heard the other girls as she was in a stall, talking loudly about what an idiot she was, and how funny the whole thing was. Lily loudly was saying she was betting even Micheal wouldn't get passed second base with Viva. That was when one of the other girls told Lily that Micheal didn't even like Viva, he had a bet with Greg that he could fuck the Olympian. Viva had waited until they left the bathroom, then left, confronting Micheal and his friends. The whole group laughed at her, their hurtful words still ringing in her ear as she fled the club.
Finding herself at Darragh's door, she took a deep shaky breath and knocked loudly. She had no idea how late it was. She waited a moment and knocked again. The door opened and she pushed passed him without waiting for him to let him in. "Do you think I'm a stuck up bitch?" she demanded, her blue eyes shining and bright with unshed tears. "Do you think I've been handed everything, like everyone else thinks?" "That I'm untalented, awkward, and...ugly?" The last word was whispered as tears slipped down her cheeks.
