WHO: Lia and Nyx WHEN: October 10; Evening. WHERE: Nyx's room. WHAT: Lia has some news to share... RATING: TBD!
Lia was not at all sure she could do this. Not just the telling Nyx part. The entire part of having a baby. She wasn't ready for a baby. She could barely remember to feed Kiss most weeks. It was one of the reasons her sister had advised she'd get a cat. At least human Kiss had been right on that front. Her cat was still breathing because food could be left out. There was no way Lia could handle another living, breathing, entity. The bigger dilemma, which was frightening when you thought about how huge not being mentally capable of having a child should be, was the fact that the siren knew without a doubt that this baby was not Nyx's. Typically it would have been a toss up, but darling love had been away on family business around the time that the school nurse had told her would have been The Date; the date of creation, of course.
That only left one explanation; one suspect: One James Ashton Quentin
Thinking about that night that he and Audrey had helped her after some thugs refused to take no for an answer made Lia's inside twist into knots. She'd been nauseous all day, of course, but this was different. She could distinctly remember the feel of soft hands on her as Audrey grew bolder, and the strong taste of J.A.'s kiss still lingered on her tongue. None of them could have predicted what would happen when the vampire prince drank from Lia and Audrey, but there was no stopping once it started. She wasn't sorry it had happened, of course, she just didn't know what she was supposed to do now. Not only was Lia unable to raise a child, she knew J.A. was even less of a place for such news. Emotionally, mentally, whatever. He was a wreck over the Audrey situation, he was a wreck over the kidnappings, he was just unstable in so many ways. Lia couldn't even imagine telling him that she was pregnant. She couldn't imagine telling anyone, really, but there was one person who deserved to know. One person she knew she could count on. One person she knew would help her figure this all out.
Nyx was that person.
Despite what she'd done, Lia knew he would not be angry. Perhaps part of him would be unhappy, even a tiny bit territorial, but the majority would want to help her. They loved each other. He knew that J.A. meant a lot to her and that he needed someone now more than ever. Nyx had never minded if she messed around with his prince, but pregnancy was a different matter. It made those somersaults in her stomach worsen to think about how badly this could go, but Lia had to cling to her optimism. She also had to figure out what to wear, because every situation called for proper style. The dilemma of what one should wear when telling her boyfriend that she was pregnant with another guy's baby had never presented itself to Lia before, but she was well versed in the field of fashion. Fashion made sense. Fashion could distract her. And damnit, she was going to wear every single thing she wouldn't be able to wear when she grew bigger while she had the chance.
Ultimately, being sick decided in part for her. She didn't want to risk throwing up on nice Loubatins or a Michael Kors blouse. Opting for a pair of stretch fit wine-colored jeans, she paired it with a simple yet stylish top. Hair was left down, since it was still drying crimped after a trip to the bathroom had rendered it full of her lunch and a shower had been required. Taking a deep breath, she made her way to Nyx's, trying to focus on how excited she was to see him instead of what she had to say. Whatever was going on within his family had taken him away from her for too long it seemed, and she was eager to feel his arms around her again; even more so if this was possibly the last time she'd ever feel them. With another breath, she knocked on the door as a warning before turning the knob and entering without waiting. Lia never waited for anything, why start now?
"Mon amour?" she called, knowing she sounded a bit more tentative than normal but unable to help it. She was so damn tired lately.
