Of course touching Tay would make him calm down easier than just gentle words. Vi should have known that from the beginning. She also didn't feel bad because he seemed inconsolable at this point. Being helpless was her fiance's biggest pet peeve, and Tay didn't do well in situations where he couldn't help. Even being able to track down and beat those responsible would have been better than just standing around. She didn't want him to get thrown out, however, so tried her best to soothe the restless angry energy surging through him; energy she could feel as if it were her own.
Hearing Tori's helpless voice brought a cringe to her face. There was no way Tay would stay calm when his sister was calling for him so pitifully, and sure enough he took off without a second thought. "Tay!" she tried, but he was already being intercepted by the orderlies who seemed much more capable of restraining him than the nurses had been.
Stepping up beside him, she placed a hand on his shoulder, looking at the orderlies with pleading concern on her face. "He's fine. He just wants to calm her down. She's calling for him," she told them, looking at the one who was regarding her with a softened expression. The guy looked from Vi to Tay for a moment before he seemed to relent. "Give him a second to calm down and then he can go over. But he HAS to be calm." Vi nodded, expression grateful as she turned to try and relax her fiance; trying to ignore the sight of Ren consoling a very broken Tori a few feet away.
Tori's head moved from side to side, and she seemed incapable of keeping her eyes awake and alert for consecutive intervals. They would flutter closed before springing open again, and the delirium was obvious when she managed to fixate her gaze on Ren. "Ren?" she repeated, as if not sure whether to believe her own eyes. Or his own words. "What...where am I?" Of course he had mentioned doctors, but Tori's brain was firing on all cylinders at the moment.
The feel of his touch relaxed her shaking frame, and she drew a shuddering breath as she tried to focus. "Where's Tay?" Her voice was small, weak, but she couldn't find the strength to raise it at the moment.
