Vi bit her lip, shaking her head at his question. She hadn't walked over there yet because it seemed more important to handle Tay and make sure Ren was alright. It's not that the witch didn't want to see Tori, but she felt obligated to do as much as she could. Talking to the nurses and doctors, soothing worried loved ones, etc. She hadn't had time to go tell the younger girl that she was there. "Regardless of whether I have or not, she will be alright." Deep down, Vi knew she shouldn't be making promises she couldn't keep, but Ren's face was so lost and heartbroken that she had to say something.
Of course, she was quickly distracted by Tay's return, and the pain in her soulmate's face made her heart drop. It was impossible to get him to look at her, not with how scared and helpless he was feeling, but Vi continued to try. "Tay. Baby. Calm down," she urged, casting an apologetic glance at a few of the nurses that had stopped their work to look over disapprovingly. Stepping closer as he stood still, Vi leaned against him in an effort to calm him. "You don't want them to kick you out, do you? Just focus on me. Okay?"
As the voices in the room continued to rise, the doctors tried not to let themselves be distracted as they worked. A few barked orders to the kids, warning them to quiet down or they'd be asked to leave. It wasn't their place, but the young girl was in bad shape and all the tension and noise wasn't helping their mission to stabilize her.
Tori shifted under their probing hands, a surge of pain shooting through her and causing her eyes to pop wide open. Later, she would question how she somehow knew Ren's distress was growing, but right now she couldn't think. Letting out a cry of agony, she shifted in an effort to move away from the hands holding her. Tori was feverish, her mind not altogether conscious, and she didn't know where she was.
"No!" she attempted, but her voice was weak and broken as pain racked through her. "Ren...." she whimpered, trying to push away a doctor attempting to soothe her, but losing strength as a shuddering cough racked her frail frame. "Tay...help me...." Her words were jumbled, lost in delirium and agony, though it was no surprise she called for the two most important people in her life.
