Vi and Tay arrived just in time to see a doctor turn away and head back into the cluster of chaos around what she could only assume was Tori's bed. Hearing her fiance's harsh tone, she squeezed his hand a little, trying to remind him that she was there. It was going to be alright. Vi found herself praying that when Ren answered, he would point somewhere that wasn't the huge panicked cluster of staff a few feet away.
Of course, it wasn't that kind of night.
Her heart dropped as he pointed towards the doctors and nurses, and Vi squeezed Tay's hand again subconsciously. She knew he was going to want to move through the staff and see his sister, so she took the opportunity to step forward and tap one of the bustling nurses on the shoulder. When the woman turned, she seemed to blink in surprise before recognition crossed her face. "Miss Salem. I didn't realize you were here. Are you alright?" Clearly this woman was new, as most of the staff didn't show this much fear after awhile. The Salem children were still treated a little differently, but it dissipated after awhile.
"I'm fine. I'm here because my fiance's sister was just brought in. He'd like to see her. We promise he won't get in your way, he just wants to make sure she knows he's here," she said, keeping her voice serious and grave. It wasn't hard given how worried and scared she was for Tori, though.
After a few seconds of internal debate, the woman's expression finally softened. "I suppose a brief reassuring visit wouldn't hurt. But it has to be quick," she allowed, moving a few of the nurses aside and beckoning Tay forward gently.
