Who: Chester and JA When: February 11th early evening Where: Chester's room in the athlete's village What: The unthinkable happened...
The feeling of disbelief was starting to wear off finally. No one had expected Chester to not metal for half pipe. He had four years ago and had at basically every event he had done since. It never occurred to JA that it was still a possibility for things to go wrong. And gone wrong they had. JA had seen that first run going bad half way through and he winced both times Chester hit the ground. Kali, beside him, had gasped loudly and covered her eyes like she always did. He still hadn't been worried. It would only take one run to get the gold but the second one hadn't gone to well. In fact if he was anyone other than Chester Blackstone it would have been a good run. It wasn't what he needed to win though.
JA hadn't been able to get to his best friend after the event. He wasn't family so he wasn't allowed in to the Village. True he was the Vampire Prince he could probably find a way in but it hadn't been necessary right after the event. He was still hoping Chester would come out on his own, even though he knew he wouldn't. It was Calix that got him going. She had been allowed in to see her brother but he hadn't let her stay long. He said he wanted to be alone but his twin was worried about him being alone. So JA called in a favor. True he had just met Leif Sandbech but the kid was one of Chester's new best friends so he was the only one he could think to call.
Leif had met him at the entrance of the Village and managed to talk the security in to letting JA in without too much trouble. As they walked towards Chester's room JA noticed the fresh bruising on Leif's knuckles. He vaguely remembered hearing something about him punching one of the other snowboarders. he would have to ask about it later. Leif stopped at number 18.
"This is his room. He has been kicking out everyone that comes by. He only let me for a bit because I came baring a bottle." Leif told him as he leaned against the door frame. "If doesn't let you in, the doors are really easy to tear down." he nodded his head at JA, as if to wish him good luck, before he walked away. Once he was gone JA turned his attention to the door. he knocked but he wasn't really expecting an answer. He didn't get one. The door was locked but it was a cheap lock. One that JA easily forced open. He let himself in and his eyes fell on his best friend.
"You didn't really expect that lock to keep anyone out did you?"
