WHO: Kiss and Crash (and now I know there IS actually a song involving those two words, like I joked about before!) WHEN: February 14 [Yes, this is future-dated] WHERE: Some hotel in Russia. Kiss has been kidnapped. (NOT REALLY. Figuratively.) WHAT: Crash is surprising his girl and rescuing her all at once. RATING: Idek. Does it matter? STATUS: CLOSED.
Make no mistake, Kista was grateful that her sister and friend cared about her enough to want to make sure she wasn't left alone in her own head. She'd had far too much of that recently, and it was slowly turning the once friendly and open girl into a recluse. She didn't mean to be, but so much had happened that her mind could not physically handle it all. Kiss had been so strong the entire time, enduring all the torture and the cruel words without breaking or showing weakness, but once she'd gotten home things had changed. All that strength that had gotten her through those horrid days seemed to slip away. Kiss could see the fear and worry on her sister's face, on everyone she cared about's faces, but she didn't know how to stop; she didn't know how to go back to being herself. The physical reminders were there, glaring at her every single day, and reminding her of the terror and helplessness she'd faced. Not to mention the nightmares, which left her nerves even more frayed as lack of sleep began to take its toll. Kiss didn't want to talk about it, as the constant reminders in her own head were more than enough, but not talking about it meant she wasn't healing either.
The announcement from Reed once she'd gotten back to school had been the icing on the cake. She felt like she'd gone through all of that, thinking she was protecting him, for nothing. He was putting himself in danger anyway, and while Kiss understood deep down, she just couldn't process one more thing piling on top of everything else. People at school were bad enough when they saw the still-healing scars or burn marks or removed birth marks, but the discovery that she had "lied" to them was enough to put them over the edge. Kiss hadn't left her room often after the Gossip post had circulated, which was likely why J.A. and Lia felt it necessary to coerce her into going with them to Russia. Kiss didn't want to be rude, but she'd had no desire to leave. She didn't want to face the public at large as she would have to do at the Olympics, and really didn't have the energy to put on that continuous happy face. Despite not wanting to be rude, she'd tried to refuse, also not wanting to bring them all down. Ultimately, J.A. had convinced her that it would be okay, and the worry on her sister's face had been enough to get her on the plane despite her reservations. She couldn't let Lia down.
Now, after having been in the beautiful frozen land for over a week, Kiss was ready to go home. She'd stopped letting them drag her out to parties or events, instead pretending to be tired or under the weather so they would let her stay in her room. Her phone was her only companion, linking her to Crash whom she missed desperately. Kiss knew she was worrying him too, but she didn't know how to stop herself. She wanted to ease his mind, but didn't have the ability to lie or pretend around him. She was miserable, but Crash made it better. He was the only thing that made her feel safe, truly safe, and he wasn't here. The days seemed to blend together, and despite being an avid Valentine's Day supporter, Kiss didn't even realize the day was upon her now. She was curled up in her hotel suite, still in her pajamas, staring idly out one of the massive windows. Russia was gorgeous, like a living breathing moving ice sculpture, but it wasn't home. Kiss wanted to go home....
