Town Hospital 12th of November | Nacola and Lucas | 10 am
"No. You don't need to apologize to me. I understand why you couldn't," she said, giving him a reassuring smile. It was impossible for Nacola not to be relieved he wasn't avoiding her. That thought alone lifted her spirits.
It was nice to have Lucas' arms around her, especially since she knew he didn't like hugging too much normally. Still, she pulled back, not wanting to hurt him further just to comfort herself. "I still should have been at the dance like I told you I would be. That way you wouldn't be blaming yourself for me getting hurt," she insisted, fixing him with a pointed look. Nacola could feel that he blamed himself, and she wanted him to know she was onto him. "It wasn't your fault. It was my decision. You always protect me, I just wanted to do the same for once." Nacola hadn't liked feeling helpless when her friend and sister were kidnapped, and she had vowed never to feel that way again.
"I'm so lucky to have you as my guardian. I'm sorry I didn't listen."
