It took Storm a good hour and a half to calm herself down. Sitting in her room focusing on her breathing and convincing herself that she was ok. She knew she couldn't let this sit for long. She needed to go back to his room and fix this argument. Did she love him? He would want a real answer to that question. She spent the next hour trying to sort through her feelings. She truly cared about him. Was that feeling love? It must be. She had never felt like this before or about anyone else. She knew she could feel her heart flutter whenever she saw him and it would start to race everytime he touched her. Yes, she loved him. Amazingly, here, alone in her room it was a realization that didn't terrify her. In fact it almost excited her. She had realized she loved him and she wanted to go with him to the charity event.
It had been hours since she left Memphis' room. Hopefully he wouldn't be too angry with her to hear this. She hesitated only long enough to fix her messy makeup. It didn't take her long to get back to his room. There was actually a small smile on her face. This felt like a good thing. And it wasn't nearly as frightening as she had always thought of it as. Storm let herself in without hesitating. She walked in to the empty living space. Nothing seemed to have changed since she left, in fact she paused to pick up the glass of water she had been drinking before things had gotten out of control before she headed towards Memphis's bedroom.
She opened the door and then froze. The smile that had been on her face quickly dropped off and the glass she held slipped out of her hand, shattering on the floor. She didn't react to the sound at all. She couldn't believe what she was seeing and hearing. She didn't even know the name of the girl he was in bed with. It didn't matter. He was fucking someone else. She felt in her heart that had been sharing a minute ago come crashing down and her stomach cleaned. She couldn't even make herself turn away or leave. All she could so was stare in shock.
