As Brayden asked her what she was talking about, Emilie couldn't stop the tears that fell down her face. For her to cry in front of anyone, especially someone who had essentially broken her heart, not that she blamed him anymore. It had taken this with Lourdes for her to realize that it was all for the best. It was probably better for everyone if she just stopped being in their lives. His arm came around her shoulders and she melted into him, the tears and the sobs coming then. She couldn't hold it back anymore.
"I destroy everything I touch," she repeated between shaky breathes as she stopped her crying a few minutes later. "If you hadn't left me, I would eventually destroy you too." She had to stop another wave of fresh tears. She wiped at her eyes as she continued to talk. "Lourdes overdosed on cocaine and is rehab and Detroit isn't talking to anyone, I think something happened to her when they went out." It was true she wasn't actually there for this time, but that was completely irrelevant. In the grand scheme, she made their own vices worse. It had been true for Brayden too.
"I just make everything so much worse. I destroy people." She thought of her own parents, how her human father was a complete drug addict, something she now knew was her own fault.
She pushed her hair out of her face and raised her eyes to his, the tears streaking her face. "I mean look at you Bray, you're happier without me, aren't you?"
