Thread: Seiji and Mamoru
Who: Seiji Nakamura & Mamoru Miyamoto Where: School Grounds - Paddock, Training Room and Other. What: Meeting (Again) & Guardian Bonding to Charge. When: Sunday, 28th of April Open: No Status: CONTINUING Samurai's were protectors, in history they had protected nobility in Japan and the Miyamoto family had been doing it for longer than written history could approximate. The family had been created to protect those who needed them and hundreds on generations later it was still so. Mamoru Miyamoto was following every member of his family before him into the role of Samurai under the guise of becoming a Guardian, Samurai's and Guardians were the same thing just holding different names. From the day he was born he'd been conditioned with the old ways that had been adapted to the New World and from the age of 15 he'd been serving as a Guardian to Japanese nobility. On a trip home to celebrate the birth of a new sibling he was compelled to go to an Oracle in the monastery closest to him. Therese he was told his fate, 'You are a Samurai and you have not yet found your purpose; You must travel to the land of the maple, find the Mystic Place and find the one you are bonded to. You have met twice before but it must be sealed with a touch. Go now, for he needs you. Go later and he will be lost to you forever.'
Mamoru had spent one day with his family and then he was on a plane to Canada, the land of the Maple, his bag packed, his animals in transit and his weapons in a chest close by. He had traveled multiple times and this trip was no different, it was all protocol and waiting around- with clearances and forms. He arrived and he traveled to the school- Mystic Vale Academy. He had no idea which person of Nobility was the one whom he was to be bonded to. He knew those he'd met too many times and those he had not met at all, but there were many who could still possibly classify.
He'd settled silently into school, he'd arrived at a horrible time- Royals had been taken by humans and the school was in Lock-Down. He was forced into many interrogation situations and had many clearances done on him, his possessions and his weapons. He'd checked out (of course) and he hadn't complained the whole time, though it took two full days. He settled in fast and easily, greeting people he knew and meeting new people he did not know- many were kind to him and he understood those who avoided him; This was a stressful time for them all. He stuck to himself mostly, staying off of the School Communications Networks though he monitored it and staying out of the other Guardians ways.
His Queen and his Angel arrived on his fourth day here and as soon as he was notified he went down the the stables to welcome them. His animals were very important to him and he was glad to see that both had made the trip unharmed. His horse (Queen) was in a yard by herself grazing whilst his dog (Angel) sat at the gate close by waiting for him. When he approached the two became excited and were obviously happy to see them. "Hello my pretty ladies, welcome to Canada!" He announced grinning at them as Angel jumped up into his arms in her excitement. He set her down after a cuddle and walked towards the fence where Queen was waiting for her turn. "Back" he called to her and she took two steps back. He jumped and landed perfectly on the thin fence that was surrounding the yard. It was a thin fence barely wider than two fingers together, he was balanced easily on it and he walked along for a moment until Queen stepped vertical to him, he took one step off of the fence and landed silently onto the group between the fence and his stallion. She nuzzled him as Angel leaped the fence and sat happily close by his feet.
He was so concerned with the fact that they were here he didn't notice anyone watching him.
Seiji was simply taking a stroll, just to keep moving and attempting to keep his thoughts off of the lock-down and what might be happening to Sun. He found himself near the paddocks along the edge of the school grounds and decided to turn toward the Archery grounds nearby. Some practicing will help him clear his thoughts, seeing as doing so is part and parcel with shooting Japanese style.
He followed along the fence, his eyes down on the grass in front of him as he thought and wondered, uncharacteristically thoughtful and quiet. When a very tall shadow met his eyes, he lifted his gaze to see a man up on the fence with a dog at his side and a horse watching him intently. Seiji tilted his head as he watched the man hop down from the fence, then lifted his hand to slide along that fence as he kept walking toward the man. He gave him a little smile when he got close enough and noticed, happy to see this man was also Asian, "Hello! How are you?" He studied the man, believing him to be Japanese right away.
Mamoru heard the other man approach before he even spoke- keen hearing was good for that when you were focusing. He turned at the voice and bowed, "Hello Duke Nakamura, How are you?" he replied, returning the smile with a small one of his own. Angel, ever the curious dog pattered forward and poked her head through the fence to sniff the new comer.
Seiji blinked at him for a moment. No one here calls him that at all! Heck, only a few people really knew he was a Duke's son! Yet this man did, and even bowed and called him by his Royal title. Huh! Seiji finally grinned a bit at the man and bowed back, not as low as the other, and he switched to speaking Japanese, "I am fine, thanks. How is it you recognize me?"
Mamoru knew he had shocked the young nobleman and though that hadn't been his intent it amused him all the same. "We have met before, I was Guardian to the Unseelie Duchess last year during the Moon Festival. Though I knew of you for much longer, that was the first time I made your acquaintance, then later in the year at the end of Summer. I am Miyamato Mamoru and it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance again." He leaned back against Queen like she was a wall rather than a horse.
Seiji gave him another few blinks as the man spoke to him, then wrinkled his nose a little in agitation at not remembering him. Then again, Guardians usually stay back or are more stoic and quiet types. He gave a little sigh, then another little bow to the man, "Then I apologize for not recognizing you, Miyamoto-san. Are you unbound at the time, then?" He eyed the man as he stood straight again. He had only made a post about getting a Guardian just the other day. It would be strange if this man bonded to him suddenly!
Mamoru was not offended that he was not remembered, his job was to protect those worth remembering not become Mister Popular. He was definitely the quiet type who blended into the walls but was always there. "It is perfectly fine" he assured the other with another small smile as he pet the horses mane. "I have been hired but never bound" he explained, "So yes, I am without a bond" he answered clearly. Coincidence and Fate often intermingled and were titled as one or the other- many believed there was no such thing just a string of coincidences and others believed there was no such thing as coincidences just what fate had in store for you. Mamoru believed in both, he believed things could be coincidences and he believed in fate, that they were two separate things married together because of the great impacts they could have on ones life.
Seiji nodded gently to the man's explanation, his hand lifting a bit nervously to push into the front pockets of his jeans as the other lifted further to tug and play with a strap on his red and black striped punk-ish shirt. He was rarely ever not moving, even when feeling low as he was now. "Then I hope you find your bond soon, and I hope you get along with him or her well. Someone here might need you, with all that's going on." He leaned toward the other with a sudden thought, a little smirk on his lips, "You must be a good fighter! You should teach me!"
"An oracle told me the person I am to be bonded to is here, hence why I am here" he explained, he normally wasn't open like this but he figured there was no harm in explaining it a little. "I hope I find them soon too and that they are not one of the taken ones" he stated. His face was serious as he said the last part, he was concerned for all those involved.
"I am... Quite talented in the art of fighting" he admitted, not meaning to come off as egotistical. He saw the smirk and figured there may be a little challenge hanging around in that statement somewhere and he couldn't help but encourage it. "I would teach you but I do not wish to bruise you.”
Seiji nodded gently to the new information, "It would be hard to bond someone not here!"
He listened to the man's little tease, then snorted at him as he leaned back again, his hands lifting to curl his fingers together behind his own neck as he grinned at him, "Bruising is nothing! I've had many bruises in my training, but it's not so easy to bruise me, anymore. Do you know Karate?"
"My point exactly" he nodded, part of him believed they were lost forever though he said nothing- he'd seen the Duke's post about them and one of his friends- The Fenghuang, was taken- he would not feed fear.
"I am trained in many forms, Samurai's normally are in this era" he explained, he had an air of ease and confidence about him.
Seiji's jaw dropped just a bit at him and his hands stayed where they were as he leaned toward him once more, "Samurai!" He adored all things Traditional Japanese, and Samurai were part of that! Tales of Samurai were always his favorite as a child, and were part of the reason he trained so hard before coming to this school. Being a Samurai would be so cool!! He had even contemplated becoming a Guardian just so he could call himself a Samurai, but that was long ago. He grinned at the man, "I love that your family believe yourselves Samurai, it's so cool! You should definitely show me your skills. There's no real Dojo here, but there's a training room nearby. Will you show me?"
He was a little surprised at how shocked the Duke seemed. "We are Samurai; My ancestor was Miyamoto Musashi the most revered Samurai in history" he stated, he wasn't actually boasting though it sounded like it a little. "We train as they did and we adapt to the new world but we still follow Bushido" he continued to explained moving forward and leaning on the other side of the fence. "Samurai is the ancestor of Guardian, just as here in the West, Knights are ancestors to their form of Guardian" He explained, smiling softly. He was obviously proud of what he was. "If the Guardians are not using it I am sure I could show you" he nodded, taking a step back and jumping onto the fence again before stepping off and landing silently on the ground beside Seiji.
Seiji listened intently to the man's retort, and he remembered a story or two about Mamoru's ancestor. He loved that this man was descended from the famous samurai! He just thought the word 'samurai' was a bit antique. There were no more Samurai, were there...? A Guardian was pretty much the same thing, though, he supposed. So he nodded with a smile and watched the other hop up onto the fence and come back down to his side. He eyed that fence, not sure that he could do that so easily as the other had, then crouched down to hold out his hand to the dog and pet on her, "Okay, then Samurai you are. Are you, too, doggie? A doggie Samurai! You need a helmet!"
Mamoru chuckled at Seiji calling Angel a Samurai. "She is, she has a very special move too" he explained, looking down at his dog. "Katana" He said, it seemed like a random word but Angel ran away and then rounded back, leaping over the fence and jumping straight into Seiji- if he didn't catch her they'd both fall. As soon as she could Angel was licking and nuzzling the Duke in absolute playfulness.
"Eh?" Seiji watched the dog run off, then blinked as she turned back toward them. He was surprised that the dog hopped the fence RIGHT in front of him, and his arms lifted to catch the large dog, but he was still knocked over. He ended up laughing and wriggling under the pup, his arms around her and fingers scratching and petting on her, "Mercy! I give up! White flag!"
Queen trotted over to watch the fun and nuzzled into Mamo's shoulder as they stood and watched the 'attack'. "Tokyo" He called and Angel gave one more playful lick before returning to Mamoru's side. "She is Angel, The affectionate Samurai" he mused, smiling down at her. He pressed his forehead against the horse's muzzle- "I will be back" he promised and they both closed their eyes for a moment before Mamoru stepped forward and offered Seiji his hand to help him up.
Seiji grinned and wiped at his face with his sleeves. He laughed and pushed up to sit, "Affectionate Samurai! I love her!" He grinned at the dog and looked up to see his new friend face to face with the big horse. They looked happy with each other! He smiled up at the man and hopped to his feet on his own, his hands brushing his own ass to get off dirt and grass, "After that attack, I don't know if I can trust you! Come on, training room's this way!" This should be so much fun! He turned and walked quickly toward the gym and the training rooms.
Mamo wasn’t at all surprised when Angel yipped twice in response to being told she was loved, “She likes you” he assured Seiji, not really surprised- Angel had good taste in people. Mamo nodded smirking a little as his hand fell to his side and pet Angel who was sitting at his side watching everything. He smiled once more over his shoulder at his Queen before following. Mamoru followed behind with Angel strutting alongside him, she was like his shadow. He had to admit he was impressed with the facilities the school had, even though he rarely intended to use them, they were vast and well equipped. “So you know Karate?”
“Uh huh!” Seiji slowed for a moment to walk beside the man with Angel in between them, “I know Karate, I can fight with Katana and I know archery. I’m on the Archery team here at school, and I’m the only one that shoots Traditional Japanese style. I would suppose you know a lot more than I do... but I don’t think I’m all that bad at any of them!”
"That's very impressive" Mamoru complemented, he wasn't usually an overly boastful person. "Yes, I have studied and practiced those arts though there is always room for improvement" he mused, looking over at Seiji. "Where did you learn to use a Katana?" He asked, curiously- it wasn't exactly like football or Tennis where there were hundreds of places and people to teach you.
Seiji smiled at him for his compliment, just a bit cocky with his abilities, even with a Guardian about to fight him. His hands lifted once more to push into his jeans pockets, “My family has it’s own Dojo and we hire someone to come teach us when we are kids and teens. A private tutor type of person. Oshiro-sama was very patient with me, even though I’m a handful... and I still go to him for training when I am home, as do some of my family.” He grinned a bit, “And I’m still a handful!”
Mamo could tell that Seiji was confident in his abilities and if Mamoru knew anything it was not to underestimate or overestimate any opponent. As he listened to the Duke’s explanation of his training he had to admit he was impressed. Oshiro-San was a very talented and honorable tutor in many forms of martial arts. He smirked a little at the handful part, this didn’t surprise him in the least but he thought it would be rude to comment on that so instead he stepped forward and opened the door for Seiji. Angel followed the Duke in and Mamo followed her, he broke away from the little group and explored the room looking for a training stick, otherwise he’d go up and get his own. “Aikido?” He asked, questioning which form of Martial arts Seiji was trained or interested in.
Seiji quietly thanked the man as he slipped through the door with the dog, then moved along the wall to slip off his shoes and leave them there at the wall. He bounced a little on the balls of his feet as he watched Mamoru explore, his fingers laced and stretched above his head as he shook it to answer his question, “No, Goju-ryu Karate. I learned a bit of T’ai Chi, too, which is kind of like Aikido, but not enough to use only that in a fight.” With his stretching nearly done, he padded his way to the mats, tugging at one or two to get them straight, “You know Aikido?”
Mamo continued to explore the room as if looking for something in particular. He picked up a few training sticks but placed them back where he’d found them before moving on. He finally found what he was looking for, two training sticks about the same weight and length as a traditional Katana. He laid them down near where he slipped his shoes off and folded his jacket. Angel settled there too. He strode into the center of the room and bowed to each corner before stepping back two paces and facing Seiji, “Yes, and others though I favor Aikido. What would you like to see or do first?” He asked politely.
Seiji crouched a bit, stretching out his legs for a few moments, then pushed back up to his feet to bow to the mat’s corners as well. He stepped onto the mat with a smile and met his friend in the middle, standing a few feet from him, “I really respect those who take up Aikido, it looks harder but is gentler on both the attacker and defender. But for now, I think I’ll stick to Karate, if that’s okay with you? I wouldn’t mind learning some Aikido later, though!” He lifted an eyebrow at the man, wondering if he was assuming too much.
Mamoru rose up onto his tippy toes and grabbed at the beam of the roof which he could grab by jumping slightly. He hung there letting gravity stretch his body- in the dojo he normally did this outside. He landed silently on the mat again, “Aikido is an incredible form of martial Arts” he agreed, “Of course” Mamoru nodded. He returned to his position opposite Seiji before he bowed to his opponent, “Oss” He stated, it was traditional to say that to an opponent in Karate, He figured it worked outside a dojo and to the Duke well enough. He closed his eyes for a moment and then opened them standing and awaiting Seiji’s first attack.
Seiji watched the man stretch himself, then looked up at the beam with a wrinkled nose. He was too short to do something like that! Still, he sighed lightly and bowed with him, this time just as low as the Guardian in respect for his opponent, “Oss.” As he stood, one foot slid back into position and his hands lifted in front of himself at the ready. He waited with Mamoru for a few silent moments. Oshiro-sama had always said that the one who attacks first is the loser, but Seiji had never had the patience to wait for very long. Finally, he rolled his eyes a bit, proving his inability to stand still, then slid forward quickly with a feinted punch and a kick headed for the other man’s side.
Mamo remained exactly where he stood, he didn’t even seem to blink. He had the patience to watch paint dry so he didn’t mind standing there, he had a feeling that Seiji wouldn’t last more than ten minutes just standing there, but he’d happily be wrong. He wasn’t though, and his arm came down to catch Seiji’s kick before it connected. He held the Fae’s leg up so Seiji had to hop for a moment before he dropped it. In the moment it may have taken Seiji to regain his balance properly Mamo threw a roundhouse kick.
Seiji gave a little hop as his leg was held up longer than he thought it would have, but his chin lowered and his body started to twist away from the hold. He was let go before his twist was finished and it took him another moment to gain his balance, but his arms both lifted in front of him to block the kick sent his way. With both feet steady on the ground again, his hands turned to grab the pant leg against them, shoving Mamoru’s leg back the way it had come as his own leg lifted for a knee to the stomach!
Mamo chuckled a little as Seiji caught his pants legs. He hoped backwards and forced his leg out of the hold planting it hard behind him so he gained his balance faster than he would of had he tried to stand straight. He turned fast to try and avoid the knee and it barely skimmed his side and he had to admit he was surprised at the force behind it! As he turned so his back wasn’t facing Seiji he shot his leg out to try and sweep his opponent off of his feet.
Seiji couldn’t help but grin at the chuckle, even though he wasn’t sure if Mamoru was amused with his good abilities or was finding Seiji lacking! He had to step forward with his momentum, seeing as his knee missed the man, and he turned quickly when he could to face the man once more. Mamoru’s quicker sweep caught him off guard and he only half dodged it so the man’s foot connected with his far leg. Attempting to use his forward and sideways momentum to his advantage, Seiji reached to grab Mamoru’s arm, wanting to find him off balance enough for a throw.
Mamoru had been amused at the fact that his own pant leg had gotten him caught, he’d never had that happen before but he supposed he’d normally been in much more appropriate clothing when sparring. Mamo wasn’t overly off balance as he began to rise from his sweep but he’d only half risen when Seiji went for the throw. He used Seiji’s momentum against him and his own strength to his advantage and with one swift movement he threw Seiji from one side of Mamo’s body to the other, landing him on the mat with a small thump but the momentum caused him to fall on top. He’d had to tuck his arm between Seiji’s legs and use the other to prevent a hard landing for his opponent.
Seiji realized his mistake too late and by then, he was in the air with a breath hissing in through his teeth. Before he knew it, he felt a shock go through him starting where Mamoru’s hand grabbed his forearm, stunning him more than hitting the mat did. His breath huffed out of his lungs, his eyes going wide, only to grunt as the other man’s weight fell on top him. His fingers curled into Mamo’s shirt at his chest as he stared up at him for a silent moment of confusion, “Wh-... did you just cheat!?” What, did the man have some sort of stunner on him!?
Mamoru felt it too, though adrenaline had masked it until he’d landed, then he contemplated it. Laying atop Seiji and staring down into the face of the Duke. “Fate” he breathed, a little shocked by it all. He’d heard Guardians talk about bonding with their charge and how it was like an electric shock but he was still confused about it. Had it really just happened? Or had the Duke used some kind of Fae magic on him? Then Seiji was claiming he’d cheated! “I do not need tricks to take you down!”
Seiji blinked at that retort, then gave him a glower as he shoved the other aside, “You will need tricks to stay on your feet next time, then.” How dare the man state he was so much better after only a few moments of a fight! There wasn’t much that angered Seiji, but somehow he could feel the other’s confusion was just as high as his own, and he knew that they were only defending themselves from it. He staggered to his feet and rubbed at his forearm where Mamoru’s hand had held onto him and shocked him, “If you do not need such tricks, then tell me what that was!”
Then the anger flooded in and Mamoru was sure it wasn’t his own, he laid there for a moment with his eyes narrowed trying to channel it or at least turn it down a little. Mamoru rolled and jumped up,making his way over to angel. “Korea” He mumbled and Angel bit into his hand- enough to break the skin. He turned from the dog before it bit him and watched Seiji. He was testing something- if they were truly bonded Seiji would feel the pain- whether just the emotion of pain or a dull ache in his hand Mamoru was not sure. He still had said nothing but the one word- fate. Fate may have very well brought them together today.
Seiji took a step back when the other rolled to his feet, suspicious of his intentions, until Mamoru stalked away from him. He would have said something, but he noticed Angel lunging for her own owner and pain lanced through his hand. He gasped and grabbed onto his hand, taking another stumbling step backward, wide eyes turning from the hand to the blood on Mamoru’s own hand. He had no words for his confusion, so he just stared at the other. What was going on!?
Mamoru saw Seiji’s reaction and he knew right there and then. He pet Angel who wimpered sligthly not exactly liking biting her owner. He used his shirt to wipe the blood. “We are bonded” he offered as explanation. “Guardian and Guarded. Samurai and Nobleman” He clenched his fist and a moment later he was healed- the benefits of being a hybrid were astounding.
Bonded...? Seiji stared at him for another moment before the spoiled brat in him took over. He frowned as his eyes filled with tears, “Nooo...” No offense, Mamoru. He slid to his knees, still holding his hand to his chest as he looked down, pouting to himself, “I wanted a sexy Guardian like Aimi-san said...” He finally let go of his hand and lifted one to rub at his forehead, his sleeve swiping at his eyes as he took a deep breath, realizing he was acting like a child. He lifted his eyes to his Guardian again, studying him even harder. He supposed the man was awfully handsome. Being bisexual, Seiji could definitely see the attractiveness in his features and in his kindness before the fight.
Mamoru had expected something though he hadn’t expected a toddler tantrum on the floor. He stood and watched with one eyebrow raised, he said absolutely nothing as he watched his now charge. He was thinking over the Oracles words and it all fit perfectly. He continued to stand there with his arms folded as he stared at Seiji waiting for the tantrum to end. He found himself tempted to say that he WAS a sexy Guardian just not the type Mamoru thought Seiji was into. His eyebrow rose again as he watched Seiji.. Was seiji checking him out?! He still said nothing though.
Given the few moments to himself and his thoughts, Seiji finally took a deeper breath to calm himself. He shifted his legs into a proper kneeling position, then bowed his head to Mamoru, his hands folded in his lap, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean... didn’t mean to put you down.” His hands slid to the mat as he bowed forward a little further, “Please take care of me.” There was no way to get out of the bond, he knew that. He may as well find the sunny part of the deal and stick to that, as he usually does. Mamoru was a kind man and Seiji was usually a cheery person who loved his type.
Mamoru was fine standing there and waiting for Seiji to wrap his head around it, he’d seen the post in the school communications about not wanting a Guardian and how Seiji could look after himself, and as he reflected on that he understood why Seiji was acting in such a way and a very small part of Mamoru felt bad for this. “You did not put me down. I am both a skilled and sexy Guardian” he replied, “You must’ve hit your head hard on the mat to not realize that.” Mamoru was teasing to lighten the mood.
Mamo nodded once to confirm he would look after Seiji. That was his purpose in life and he knew he’d do a more than decent job of it. As Mamoru stood there he contemplated how he could make this work so that Seiji did not feel so trapped or anchored. “Your privacy still remains just that, Private. I only follow you when we are outside school and even then I rarely listen to conversations and I am most definitely not stuck to your hip like a siamese twin.” Perhaps that would help, Mamoru hoped so. The intrusion on emotions and the body he could not help, but they could learn to manage it.
Seiji was shocked for a moment at the other’s reply to his pouting, then sat up with a grin and his own chuckle, “You are both, I know it. And I rather like it.” He tilted his head at the other male, a smile still on his lips. He listened to Mamoru’s explanation, feeling a bit better with it. He nodded gently and looked down again, “Okay. Do you expect me to tell you wherever I go? Or will you just... know?” He lifted his gaze back up to the man, not really knowing how this works.
Mamoru smirked and it turned into a smile, “Good. Cause you’re stuck with me” he stated. He was glad that Seiji was smiling and in a better mood. “It’d be nice if you told me, out of respect. But I’ll know” He assured him, he felt a little like Santa Claus- ‘he knows if you’ve been bad or good so be good for goodness sake.’ “I’ll sense it, just as I’ll sense your emotions” He explained, “Like you felt my pain when Angel bit me.”
Mamoru took a seat and then laid down on the mat, looking over at Seiji as he settled with his head resting on his arms which were folded behind his head. “Anything else you wish to know?”
Seiji frowned a bit at the fact that Mamoru will just always know where he is and how he’s feeling, “Will I know these things about you?” He shifted closer to the other man, kneeling at his side, facing him and looking down at him. He tilted his head again, admiring the ease and calm the man was always exuding. He was kind of Seiji’s opposite that way and he wondered how they would get along from now on. It would have been too easy to be given someone he’d instantly love, wouldn’t it.
“Yes” He nodded, “Two way street. I feel you, you feel me.” Mamoru remained in his relaxed position as he watched Seiji move closer. Part of him felt like Seiji was staring and trying to make sense of everything, as if the answers were on Mamoru somewhere. He knew he was opposite in personality compared to Seiji but he figured it would work well- Yin and Yang without the evil and good, replace that with the hyped up and the calm. Mamoru was not concerned with the future and their relationship because he truly believed that they could make this work, even if it took time and change for it to happen. “Careful, I might bite” he teased.
Seiji nodded a bit to the answer, thinking on that as he settled beside the other. He lifted his eyes to Mamoru’s as the other made another joke and he blinked once more, then snickered at him. He bent over the other a bit with a grin, “Somehow I’m never prepared for you to make a joke. I don’t think I get you, Miyamoto-san.” He poked the man’s chest, “Bite me all you want. Maybe it’ll help. Here, I’ll help you.” His finger lifted from his chest to hover up over his face, just to see what he’ll do!
Mamo stared over at Seiji, the other man seemed a little more settled about it all now. They’d make it work, somehow. Mamo was chuckling as Seiji snickered. “Expect the unexpected?” he offered cheekily and watched as Seiji came closer to him. There was a glint in Mamoru’s eyes as he opened his mouth and his fangs came out of where they’d been settled and short in his gums. He smirked cheekily as he reached his head up as if to bite. “Oh good, Lunch.”
Seiji’s eyes went a bit wide at the sight of those teeth and he gave a squeak as he pulled his hand back and leaned back away from him. It was only a split moment of excited fear, and after it, he was laughing as he held his hands to his chest again, “So that’s what you are!” In one of his usual quick mood changes, he suddenly blinked soberly at his Guardian and leaned toward him once more, “Will you want to drink from me...? For real?” How strange would that be!?
Mamoru laughed softly to himself as Seiji panicked, he was more than amused by that reaction. Mamo’s amusement was radiating from him as he laid there still chuckling as he turned his attention back to Seiji. “That’s part of what I am, yes” He nodded, “The other part is... A Surprise?” He offered, though that sounded lame. Mamoru wasn’t sure if Seiji was serious for a moment but it didn’t take him long to realize that he was deadly serious. “Yeah, it’s kind of a condition of the bond- you have to feed me and keep me happy.” Mamo was completely being a liar but he wanted to see how gullible Seiji was!
Seiji wrinkled his nose a bit at the answer to his species. That look quickly moved to wide eyed surprise as he stared at Mamoru, “What? I’ve never heard of...” He blinked, then narrowed his eyes at the half Vampire, “Are you poking fun at me? You’re a horrible Guardian. Horrible!” He stuck his tongue out at the other, then hopped to his feet and simply jumped right over him to head for the dog still by the wall, “Angel, come live with me, instead! I’ll be better than mean ol’ Miyamoto-san!” He plopped back down to his knees beside the dog, his arms around her to snuggle and love on her!
Mamoru intended to trick Seiji with his other half species at some point, maybe a scare or a harmless prank. He wasn’t sure which yet. Mamo watched in anticipation to see if Seiji fell for it or not- either way it would be funny. He chuckled again as Seiji reacted to his tricking and stormed off (though he knew that Seiji wasn’t overly mad at him). He rolled onto his stomach and watched Seiji and Angel. Angel was loving the attention and he was glad that Seiji had no issue with her. “I’m not mean, you’re just silly” he teased, still laying there.
Seiji may be gullible, but he did know what his blood should do to a Vampire. Fae blood is like a hallucinogenic to them, and he may just let the man take a sip or two some day! Some day when they trust each other enough to do so. He’d love to see the man hopped up! He grinned Mamoru’s way in answer, still snuggling on the dog, “Of course I’m silly! I’m Seiji! It goes hand in hand.” He leaned back enough to ruffle at Angel’s furry cheeks, looking into her pretty brown eyes, “You come live with me. But only if you get along with kittens. Does she mind kittens, Miyamoto-san?”
Mamoru could think of nothing worse than being hopped up on Fae Blood! “It does, Silly Seiji, Duke of Fae. What a nice title!” He mused, he rolled back over onto his back and got comfortable again. Angel seemed very happy. “She loves all animals, don’t be surprised if she goes all Mommy to them or steals them” he mused, Angel had done it before. She was horrible for bringing animals home and playing Mommy to them, she even did it to Queen and Mamo! “You have kittens?” He asked, trying to hold polite conversation.
Seiji snorted at that silly title, “Not a nice title. My honorable Father would swat my head.” He kept petting and rubbing on the dog, but he glanced Mamoru’s way as the man spoke about Angel. He chuckled and watched the pup as he spoke to her, “Then you’ll love Kuroichen. He’ll love you, too. He’ll think you’re a nice, fluffy pillow for him to sleep on. I only have the one kitten, but he’s enough for me. When he’s older, I might want another pet... or I’ll just adopt Angel. What’s your horse’s name?”
“But it suits you so” he continued, smiling cheekily over at his charge. Angel was all over Seiji trying to get as much attention as she possibly could. “I don’t know about this taking Angel thing” he stated, smirking a little. “Angel would love that” he mused and as if she understood she yipped in excitement. “She is Queen. I have my Angel” He pointed to the Pup who was jumping up and down loving all the attention she was getting “And my Queen” He explained, smiling softly- it was obvious he adored his pets. “Kuroichen is still a baby?”
Seiji laughed as the dog practically crawled into his arms. He ruffled on her and snuggled on her, glad that someone here likes his physical attentions! He chuckled at his new Guardian, “And you have your Charge. You’re all set, hm?” He held onto Angel’s cheeks and smooched on her nose, then gently settled her beside him to pet on her head more calmly, “Yeah, Kuroichen is a kitten, still. He’ll be a year in a few months, though.” He glanced around and spied the practice sticks that Mamoru had picked up earlier. He pushed to his feet and padded over to pick one up, giving it a few experimental swings and stabs, not yet proving he’d been trained in using the Katana.
Angel would never leave him alone if she had the choice, she loved attention. “Queen, Angel, Sword and Charge, yes I have a full set now” he mused, smirking a little. Everything was falling into place now. “An interesting name choice” he mused, as he nodded impressed about the kitten. Mamo continued to lay there watching Seiji’s every move, very curious as to what Seiji was up to.
Seiji smiled a bit as he shifted his feet into a training position, the wooden sword in both hands held straight up in front of himself, “Kuroichen is a black kitten with little white socks. He’s little and he’s black, so Kuroichen!” He took another deep breath, then stepped forward as any Kendo student would, giving a loud ‘ha’ as the sword ducked into an imaginary head blow. He stepped back, readjusted his grip, then stepped forward once more, swinging into a slow Kata that Oshiro-sama had taught him. It has obviously been a while since he’d practiced, but his steps were sure and his swings slow enough to be corrected by himself within seconds. He looked serious and contemplative as he worked through the Kata, proving that he was good enough to fight one on one, but no Samurai or Guardian. He is well trained in Kenjutsu!
Mamoru laid there for a couple more moments then jumped up- with one swift movement he went from laying flat on his back to standing straight. He continued to watch as Seiji practiced, righting himself without any word from Mamo. Mamo was silent as he went and retrieved his own jo, even though it was just a usual training stick he was referring to it as his jo. He moved away toward a boxing bag and began hitting at it waiting for Seiji to finish his thing or suggest they do something. He wasn’t really paying much attention as he slashed at the bag. He certainly didn’t mean to accidentally bring the bag down off of it’s stand! It made a rather loud thump as it hit the floor.
Seiji kept an eye on the other man as he worked on his form, smirking a little at seeing him attack the punching bag. When the bag fell, Seiji paused in his practice, the sword up over his head as he blinked over at Mamoru, “What did the bag ever do to you? I bet it made fun of your Mama. Stupid bag.” He shifted out of the form and put a hand to his hip, the wooden sword held at his side, “Are you hungry, vampire? I’m hungry. We should go eat! What should I cook you? Or do you need blood, instead?” He tossed up the sword gently and caught it in the middle before padding back to the rack to put it away.
Mamo hadn’t even been hitting the silly bag hard! “It is bowing to me because I am so awesome” he stated, “Or it fell because it saw your face” Mamo replied- not the most mature response but hey. He put the bag back up and fastened it. Before returning his stick to where he’d gotten it from originally. “I am hungry, though I’m not sure if you’ll poison me or not” he commented, being playful.”I fed this morning, I think you should make me Chicken- something, Katsu Don?” he suggested. He walked back to where Angel was guarding his possessions. He picked up his jacket and slipped his shoes on. “Can Angel come or shall I take her home first?”
Seiji snorted to all of Mamoru’s suggestions on why the bag fell. He’s so full of shit! He folded his arms over his chest and gave the man a sour look, “Alright, alright, Mr Hot-shot. This isn’t ‘Make Fun of Seiji’ day!” He poked Mamoru in the arm hard, then turned to head for his shoes as well, “But Katsu sounds delicious! Gosh, I haven’t had Katsu in a while. Let Angel come along, she can meet Kuroichen.” He bent to tug on his shoes, then turned to look at Mamoru the Samurai Guardian. Suddenly, he gave the man a bright smile, “I have a Samurai. My own Samurai!” He laughed and turned to head for the door, finding that awesome and hilarious all at once!
"Everyday from here on forth shall be 'Make fun of Seiji day', It is my reparation for having to babysit you!" He teased as he leant against the wall waiting for Seiji. He felt victorious as Seiji agreed with Katsu for a meal, that was definitely a good thing! He pushed off of the wall and looked down at Angel. “Beijing” he called and Angel ran forward and jumped somersaulting in the air, Mamo followed and did the same showing off just as much as Angel. They reached the door before Seiji. Mamo opened it for him. “You do, and I have you” Mamo smiled brightly.
“Then you had better watch out, because if it’s ‘Make fun of Seiji’ day, then it’s also ‘Make fun of Mamoru’ day. I’ll get you back for it, better believe it,” Seiji nodded to himself as he walked. He paused a bit at seeing first the dog and then the man do somersaults as they headed for him! He gave a loud snort at the man, “You are such a show off!! You’re all proud of yourself, aren’t you? ‘I beat the Duke and made him my own’!” He pulled another sour face as he attempted to lower his voice and make fun of the other, definitely not angry with the man at all. He stepped outside and stretched his arms up over his head, fingers laced together and knuckles cracking right along with his shoulders.
“Good luck with that” Mamo mused, not at all worried- he could handle whatever Seiji threw at him, as long as it remained playful and there were no overly hard feelings. They had both landed perfectly. Mamo chuckled and smirked, “You’re just jealous cause you can’t do that” he retorted smirking as he watched Seiji passed him and he followed. “I was aiming for a King but I’ve settled for you” he replied, not missing a beat at all. Angel and Mamo followed behind pausing when he stretched. Before they circled around him, and began play fighting as they waited for him.
“I can, too, you jerkface!” Seiji pouted after the man who went around him to play with his dog. He dropped his arms and folded them at his chest as he watched them, “You have got to be one of the most infuriating people I’ve ever met, Mamoru Miyamoto. I’m only two steps down from that King you wanted, so you’ll have to suck it up. Not so perfect, anymore, are you?” He grinned at the man, slightly frustrated but still happy, then took a few quick steps forward to do his own forward somersault and land on the grass just as perfectly as his show off Guardian. He stuck his tongue out at Mamoru and turned to head for the dorms. So there!
“I call bull” he called as he ducked as Angel pounced at him, he turned and grinned- literally all toothy grin at Seiji. “And you’re stuck with me, how sad” he mused, “Don’t like the taste of your own medicine?” He questioned being cheeky. Angel took him down fast and he rolled out from under her dusting himself off. “I’m happy with you- you don’t smell like flowers like he does” Mamo replied, running a hand through his hair as he dusted himself off. He watched the somersault, nodding- obviously impressed. He reached forward fast just missing pinching Seiji’s tongue. Mamo rolled his eyes to Angel and then followed along, still amused- so he got under Seiji’s skin, this could be fun.
Seiji gave another little squeak as he just barely avoided that pinch! He half turned to swat at the man, “You’re supposed to protect me, not hurt me! Still, I could have gotten worse than you, I suppose. You’re at least nice to look at. Are you into boys at all, Miyamoto-san?” He grinned at him, half teasing and half serious. The man was handsome, and having a bond like this could be VERY interesting for a couple! Seiji’s silly, but definitely not innocent.
“I am helping you keep on your toes?” He offered though he’d been being playful. “I am very nice to look at” Mamo agreed though he actually wasn't egotistical about his appearance. He had been in a relationship with a fellow samurai for a while but he wasn’t sure if this was a trick question or not. He rose an eyebrow at Seiji trying to gauge whether this was a trick or not. He figured honesty would be best, “I am” He admitted, “Though women too, is this a problem?” He doubted his sexual preference would get in the way since most Guardians never had time to find that ‘special someone’.
Seiji found himself blinking at the man once more. Surprises around every corner! His smirky grin settled into a happy smile as he shook his head at his Guardian, “No, it’s definitely not a problem. I am much the same, actually. I was only teasing you, but knowing this makes it different...” He looked forward, instead of at his friend, wondering about him. There had been Charges and Guardians falling in love before, hadn't there? Even though Mamoru was infuriating, he was also handsome and kind!
Mamoru stared at Seiji the whole time, feeling the surprise that Seiji was feeling but not fully understanding it. “Good” Mamoru nodded glad his sexuality wasn't going to be an issue here. He hadn't lied about it considering that they were now stuck together for their lives and lying would not be a good way to form a solid Guardian/Charge relationship. He didn't want Seiji lying to him so he’d give the Duke the same respect.
Mamoru’s eyebrow rose and a smirk grew a little as they continued to stroll along. “What are you thinking?”
