WHO: Minah & Jingi WHEN: NYE [A year prior to either of their arrival in Mystic Veil] Which also happens to be their anniversary. WHERE: The Imperial Palace Hotel in Seoul, South Korea [THE ROYAL SUITE] WHAT: Celebrating their one year anniversary and catching up since they both tour with their respective k-pop units. RATING: IDK, high most likely.
It had been Minah who had picked the hotel and the room for their anniversary reunion date & celebration. It was on the extravagant side, but the hotel was known for their discretion, which was key in the rendezvous between the two young idols. It was true both of their labels were aware of their relationship as were most insiders in the industry, but it was still considered a secret. Especially with the added scandal of the fact that Minni and Jingi had both been trainee's at BigHit, until he and the other boys of BTS had debuted and she and the girl group she had been training for had been relegated to the back burner. And then she'd been offered a better contract and the option to debut with a new group, a co-ed one for a bigger company, one of the 'Main Three' which would make them a priority. They'd even bought out her contract, severing her ties with BigHit, the company she'd been training with since she was sixteen. From even before Jingi and the boys had turned up with what could only be described as 'lightening in a bottle.'
The only complication was that sometime after BTS' debut, Minni and Jingi's close friendship had become something more. Years of flirting and teasing and companionship crossed a line, despite their best efforts in resisting the attraction between them, for professional reasons. It had been exactly a year ago, on New Year's Eve, that they'd given in to their feelings. After a few glasses of champagne at the company's year end party, JIngi had offered to walk the tipsy mouse back to her dorm. He later said it was because he didn't like the way one of the older men was hovering around her, but Minni teased him that he'd just wanted an excuse to be alone with her.
On the walk to her dorm there had been much teasing about New Year's kisses.
"I haven't been kissed in years," Minah had giggled as she held onto his arm to steady herself in her high heels, pausing to make sure her sequin mini skirt didn't ride up too much on their journey back to her dorm. "Not like a certain in demand idol, with quite the growing list of pretty girls he's been kissing." The petite trainee giggled again as she teased the much taller young man as they reached her dorm. Jingi pretended he didn't know she was talking about him, instead leaning in as he told her he'd much rather be the one with only one special girl to kiss. Minah had blushed as they stood in the doorway, his hand moving to cup her face, making her look up at him.
"I think you're just waiting for someone special for that New Year's kiss," he had whispered as he leaned in closer. Minni found herself on tip toes to meet his lips as she whispered, "Yes," as their lips met.
That New Year's kiss and the champagne they used as an excuse for discarding their clothing and inhibitions, only served to open the floodgates of their feelings. It was quickly obvious to everyone who knew them it wasn't casual. It was intense, in only the way a first love could be. The label allowed it, so long as it wasn't public.
It was about eight months later Minni's friend at another label had invited her for lunch to tell her about how YG was looking to put together a secret group and she'd showed them some of Minni's videos. The Chairman wanted her to audition. This was a huge deal, an opportunity, but at what cost? She decided to do it, desperate not to be left behind anymore, not to be relegated to a back-up dancer for the rest of her life. The fight with Jingi was the worst they'd ever had, made even worse when it was revealed to be a co-ed group. But Minni hadn't backed down and they stuck it out, despite the scandal of her leaving BigHit for YG and then debuting with a co-ed group. It wasn't easy, but Minni knew it would be worth it. And when they debuted in early December, she knew it was the right decision. The direction the group let her explore was one that was sexier, less the pretty, bubbly girl group she'd been slatted for at BigHit. And Jeon Min-ah had grown into herself, finding her voice and style with the sleeker, sexier concepts YG favored for the salacious co-ed group named KARD.
It had been almost two weeks since Minni had last seen her boyfriend. They both had obligations and responsibilities. Sure they'd text and video chat and fall asleep talking on the phone, but it wasn't the same. The pressure was there, the strain starting to be felt in the way they seemed to fight more and more. Minni was pretending as hard as she could it wasn't because of the obvious chemistry she shared with one of the other members of the unit, Min. And that Jingi wasn't threatened by the ship that had happened literally overnight dubbing them Min2. It definitely didn't help that all the behind the scenes things released showed how close they all were now, how comfortable another man was with his girlfriend, someone who saw her literally everyday.
But that wasn't what Minni wanted to focus on. It was their one year anniversary. They had a lovely hotel room and she was dressed in a sleek sexy black dress, one she'd almost chickened out of wearing when she'd gone to ask Min and his friend Sin's opinion. Min had been speechless and it wasn't until Sin finally interrupted her tirade of why the dress was all wrong to tell her to go get in the waiting car and go remind her superstar idol boyfriend why he missed her so much, that she'd stopped over thinking it. And hearing Min tell her she was beautiful, in such an awestruck voice, had filled her with a warmth and heat in her cheeks, she had dismissed and immediately felt guilty about.
At the knock on the door, Minni wasn't thinking of Min, or KARD, or anything else other then seeing Jingi. Opening the door she smiled at him with red lips, as she looked up at him, her honey blond hair pinned up to show off her graceful long neck and the sparkling earrings she wore, a gift he'd sent her, which matched the sparkling bracelet, gifts for her debut. Pulling him inside before anyone else could see them, she closed the door and couldn't stop the smile on her lips at seeing him. Even in her Louboutins she was still much shorter then Jingi, so she had to pull on his shirt to bring his lips down to hers.
"Happy anniversary, Oppa," she murmured against his lips. After greeting him properly she pulled back to indicate the food on the table behind them, from the kitchen, all their favorites. "I ordered for us both, I hope you don't mind."
