The tall man's expression changes to an even colder one. As far as he was concerned he had no family and he knew his mother had passed away after his birth and that her name was Jenova. Other than that, he's lived his whole life, simply becoming the perfect weapon. That is the only thing he knows. Work. And function as a normal person between missions, or at least as normal as he can get. He thinks, that for a while, there was something more to life than just work. He thinks of the times spent with Genesis and Angeal, their contests, Angeal's speeches about honor and dreams and Genesis always reciting Loveless, until he couldn't get it out of his skull. He thinks of the amount of training rooms they broke on those days they'd sneak in after the 2nds went home to play around like they were mere children.
"What I had to live for... Is long gone." Sephiroth replied, closing his eyes as he lets out a sigh. Genesis and Angeal might still be alive, but they're no longer a reason to live, they're no longer someone who would bring out that side of him that is Sephiroth being Sephiroth, and not Sephiroth the General. He feels some of that feeling around Zack, but... In the end, it's not quite the same. He opens his eyes again and glances at the other, not even sure why he told him that.
"I'm sure that I now no longer have work to go back to, as disappearing on a mission is a good way to get reported as killed in action... While being marked as a traitor by those who know better."
