SHODAN, you talk too much.
At first, Hank is stunned by the calculated cruelty of SHODAN's words, cutting into his soul with all the coldness and precision of a surgical scalpel. These are his darkest fears brought to life and thrown in his face. Bestial monster...animal...debased...
And indeed, this would hurt and torment him deeply, if he hadn't already ridden this ride several times before.
"Madam, for all your supposed intellect and superiority, you truly are the most pathetic example of artificial intelligence it has ever been my misfortune to come across."
He stares the avatar on the screen in the "face," uncowed. Unbending. Unbreakable.
"You forget, I'm an X-Man. As such, I have fought enemies innumerable, with powers beyond your imagining...if such a soulless creature can imagine. Among them have been more than a few high-end psychics and super-hypnotists...and all of their tactics have been depressingly, disgustingly similar to yours...indeed, to those of your average, mindless, schoolyard bully!"
Hank's normally-cheerful face is twisted into a snarl...not of savagery or any baser instint, but of sheer, utter disdain.
"I mean, in all honesty...can your so-called higher intellect truly think of no more original approach to the process of demoralizing your foes than to harp on the same tired arguments that have been lobbed in my direction a thousand times before? Every one of the doctorates and accolades I supposedly 'hide behind' is one I have earned with my own sweat and tears...with my own mind, my own soul! Does your limitless knowledge have the means to conceive of that concept, harridan? Of course it doesn't...You flaunt words like 'omniscience' and 'divinity' without truly comprehending their meaning! So I renounce you, SHODAN, and decry you as the sterile false prophet you truly are!"
Picking up one of the corpses of the Reavers Cid had so handily dispatched before, Hank hurls it bodily at the avatar of the cybernetic entity.
"So either leave me and my compatriots in peace or send a thousand more of these mockeries of 'life' after us, it makes little difference to me. Either way, take your preaching defamations of humanity and kindly shove them!"
