Whatever Dustin had been expecting, a sudden wall of purple-tinged energy was not it. He jumped back, scattering his gear further, but after the initial shock had passed, he blinked a few times and approached the barrier.
"That is so cool," he said. "Hi! I'm Dustin. You're in a pocket dimension called Derleth. Looks like we're roommates! It's like being at camp, only sometimes things try to kill you."
He poked at the barrier. It was hard, solid in fact. "Is this like telekinesis, or some kind of energy field? I don't feel any current, but it's pretty damn solid. What's your name?"
