Loki is present, as a god of his word (more or less).
I do think there's a moment of looking at the cursed and feeling somewhat behooved to do something for them. The good influence of others and trying to be better has made it harder to just walk away. Counterpoint: all the people in this world are missing that spark of life and operate as worker drones milling around. They're cursed, but are they actually feeling worse for it?
Loki will nudge Julia and ask her what their future looks like. Or, rather, how long they have at best guess.
