Nursing a glass of water with shaky hands, a half-eaten granola bar on the table in front of him, Eddie felt jittery and paper thin, an uneasiness that only increased when he felt someone approaching. He looked against his better judgment, wary after a full day of being Aware in a way he'd never thought possible. God, it was horrible.
Eddie looked at Danny first because he was a kidโa kidโand Eliot second, if only briefly. It's starting, he thought, a cold horror sweeping over him. It's starting and I can't fucking do anything about it.
Shaking his head, he dropped his gaze again and tried to take a deep, steadying breath before standing. "He bothering you?" Eddie asked Danny, knowing full well he wouldn't be able to do anything even if Eliot was.
