Re: A TOAST TO HUGH (& EVERYBODY ELSE)
“Horses can have nightmares, too. Trust me. I was one for the better part of a year once.” Loki brought a hand to his chin in thought. He wasn’t worried about getting his hand slapped again. In truth, if he wanted to do something crazy, who was going to stop him? Derleth had the most power of anyone. And they were all trapped. The only reason he was cautious now was because he was turning over a new leaf. “The problem is the resets. Sometimes spells last beyond them. Sometimes they don’t. And sometimes if you do something that Derleth doesn’t like, it responds tenfold on everyone. Normally I wouldn’t care. But I’m trying to be more of a group player. Also I’m tired of getting the blame for, quite literally, everything.”
He tilted his head from one side to the other. “I can help you to sleep though. But I can’t promise it’ll take away the images in your head. I can only promise that you’ll be able to sleep. At least, in theory. I’m powerful, but if Derleth doesn’t want me to do something then I won’t be able to do it. Otherwise we’d have been able to send everyone home.”
