ADVANCED DUNGEONS & DRAGONS
Hello, everyone. You're about to meet a whole new side of Eddie Munson.
It's time for some Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. (Second Edition.) Eddie has none of the books, but he's been playing long enough, and is a good enough DM that he has most of the rules memorized and can wing the rest. Character sheets? He painstakingly drew them out on plain white printer paper.
"Step right up, if you dare... I've got a game for anyone brave enough... This is an adventure of Dungeons and Dragons..."
It's the first time he's really lit up and looked happy since arriving. He has a few binders propped up at the end of his table with scribbled notes. Dice? He found a few different hats and tore up small pieces of paper with each number on them. The "d20" is a cap with the numbers 1 through 20 written tiny scraps of paper, the "d12" is a beanie with the numbers 1 through 12 written on tiny scraps of paper, and so forth. Minis? Those are improvised, too.
You want to play? First you have to get into the game. If you step toward the table Eddie will ask... "Who are you...?" Answer with your actual name, and Eddie will vocalize a buzzer sound— "WRONG!" —and you'll be turned away from the table. Answer with your D&D character's name, concept (race/class), and maybe even a sentence of backstory or what you look like, and you'll be invited to play.
(Those who were turned away initially for not knowing what Eddie was asking for or knowing anything about D&D can come back and try again once they see how other people answer the question. If Eddie thinks your concept is lame, or you're half assing it, he may turn you away anyway. This is a game only for those really willing to play.)
