Re: KEYLETH - DAY 4 [closed to Hunter & Vax]
The Goblin Market seemed like a bad idea in general. There were plenty of warnings of those more familiar with these type of fairies to make anyone wary, but then the general vibe of the place just screamed the Night Market and other less desirable places scattered throughout the Boiling Isles.
Which meant inevitably, Luz would get drawn here. How she had survived in the Demon Realm, Hunter didn't even know. Or, well, ok, he did know... She just had this spirit that saw the best in everything. He wouldn't be surprised if she managed to befriend some beast that was trying to eat her by complimenting how nice its teeth were. So, he was here. To get a feel of the place without having to split his attention between the energetic human and whatever dangers may lurk here. Especially when it was hard enough to keep Flapjack concealed in his belt pouch. He's considered leaving the palisman behind, but the idea of walking into this market powerless beat down the fear of whatever might happen to his friend here.
Making sure he'd be prepared had brought him here, but... He'd be lying if that was it now that he was here. The setting was familiar. More familiar than their time in that last world and also... a comforting role to slip into. With everything back home and then everything they kept encountering in this world, it felt nice. A simple mission: scout out the market. Something he was used to. Something he could do. Move through a crowd, taking it all in but also above it all. Untouchable. Posture and stride warning anyone against questioning him.
He'd been doing well with the role, despite catching some odd looks, until Flapjack managed to squeak out of his pouch to land on his shoulder and chirp. His panic to grab the palisman and hide him again was derailed by, well, Flapjack doing what Flapjack does. The red bird chirped more as he took flight, grabbing that errant tuft of hair to direct Hunter's attention where the palisman felt it needed to go. Which, ok, Flapjack had a point.
It felt odd that round ears were in the majority now considering all his experience on the Boiling Isles. So, even if it was ridiculous, he felt a connection to the few others who looked like him. But more than that, Keyleth had helped him out. Made the vine huts look better. Nicer. It had reminded him of Willow, but also... Luz. Which is maybe where his mind disconnected when Percy mentioned that she was also sheltered. Because his sort of sheltered meant missions and training and how to outwit and out backstab whoever wanted to move up the rankings.
Not sheltered in... was she actually at a counter looking at wares and...
Concern over Flapjack returning to his hiding space dissolved as he strode towards Keyleth. A quick march. Something to get him there but not overly draw attention. When he was within reach, he put a hand on her arm as he tried to take in the whole scene. "What are you doing?" he asked, voice low.
