Re: Loki & open?
The conversation took a turn that Loki was neither prepared for nor comfortable with. His lips pursed in a thin line and his gaze drifted to the wallpaper, staring at the embossed gold design as though it were transparent. As though he could see beyond it and into some other dimension. The murky dimension of his troubled mind, perhaps.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Thor never recovered?
Loki was surprised by that although he felt like he shouldn't have been. Knowing that his brother had taken on Thanos vengefully tugged at something in his chest. An emptiness. A nostalgia. A wish that had never been granted. And a loss no one could replace.
Thor wanted to hurt someone for ... him?
Loki's stomach clenched. He suddenly lost his appetite.
Then the boy finally showed up with his plate of food. Loki snatched it from him and dropped a handful of poker chips in the boy's hand in return. The boy ran off gleefully.
Loki shook away his thoughts and smiled at Carol. Nostalgia gone. Back was that typical troublemaking expression. "I appreciate the offer. Perhaps another time. Maybe when it's less crowded. Do tell Julia I said hello though."
And he hurried off before Carol could try to convince him to change his mind.
