Obi-Wan Kenobi & Stephen Strange
"What would be so terrible about it? Besides the austerity, I don't see you giving up your pretty and comfortable things." He grinned, imagining Stephen in robes as he had worn in his dreams made him want to laugh. He'd look ridiculous. Though he was allowed to be vain, he himself had been after all.
Frowning, he thought about how to explain it, and looked around quickly to see that no one was watching. He also mentally sent out a gentle notice-me-not trick that would make them less likely to be interrupted or spied on. It wasn't very powerful but was useful in crowded situations where there was plenty of noise to cover. "No. The Force is part of you, an inborn spark. You can increase you're understanding and ability to use it via meditation and training, but you can't create it nor destroy it in someone." At least as far as he understood. "You can't be cloned either, if my dreams are real." Which he hoped that part was at least!
"It's more that some attachment can be allowed if one is able to keep their objectivity. To still make decisions for the greater good even if it harms those you find most dear. Or if it sends them to their deaths. But if you truly become attached, possessive, unable to let a person or thing go...then you become corrupted. There's a dark side to the Force, and they are not Jedi and they are powerful and dangerous. I hope to never see one here. " He shuddered, what he'd dreamed of was horrible enough. "It is basically the pathway to the temptation of the dark side to form attachments. If one does want to go that route, you are allowed to leave the Order and do as you please, but you would no longer be a Jedi and would be expected to give back your saber." This was more than he'd ever really said about his powers and people. It wasn't technically secret, not from someone on the magicians council, there were records about every group after all. But he also didn't go around talking about it usually.
Still, it was an intimate moment between them, where both were sharing without all the walls they both seemed to enjoy holding up. Obi-Wan missed this kind of companionship more than anything else, the only reason he'd want to go back to the compound in the desert.
The proposition and wink were entirely unexpected and his hand squeezed Stephen's shoulder a moment, not hard enough to hurt but in genuine surprise. It wasn't that he hadn't thought about it. But he hadn't ever seen it as a real possibility. "So you're saying I'd be your exciting experience, your difference from the norm?" He grinned, not opposed to the idea and it sounded better as he considered it. It had been a long time since he'd indulged in that way.
