Steve let out a ful-throttled chuckle at the return, then glanced over to catch her eye with a quick smirk. "It might more being... I'm old enough that that's how I've decided to handle it. But hell, the effort's worth it."
As she started to get into detail, his brows raised. He could feel his intereset piquing, even if he'd only felt enough before to know what she did.
"Me? No. Still a homebody," he chuckled, then hesitated. "Although. I was thinking I'd go grab a coffee, or a meal or something. You know, around town. Just to change things up." He paused as a flash of awkwardness rose up. Still, they were friendly. He awkwardly shifted, caught between meaning and perception.
"If you wanna come with, I'm happy to treat. Maybe I could help with a visual map... a sketch or something. And if it helps you find something dramatic and historical... well, I got to work a little bit on something cool," he smiled, then shrugged. It wasn't his usual MO to suggest social engagements, but it was welcomingly normal compared to what else he'd faced that day. And Lara was pleasant in general, at worse he'd do something stupid or be read the wrong way, and they could go back to being pleasant neighbors who interacted only inside the mail room.
