Steve blinked, surprised as another flash of emotion was ignited by the other's words. Or maybe the look in his eye? Steve felt a protective flash at the idea of this guy not having many friends. It just didn't sound right.
His shoulders squared again, and he took a long look. The sense of deja vu was still overpowering, but for the life of him he couldn't remember seeing the other man around the office or city before. But did that really matter? Steve wasn't picky offering manners and he usually trusted his guy completely.
"No, no, I'm sorry," he shook his head quickly, raising his own hand. "I just... I don't know. Had weird dreams last night and must've still been half asleep. Not your fault."
He paused, then chuckled semi weakly as he glanced down and nudged the lid with his foot. "I.. well. You might be shocked to hear, I don't have many friends myself. I'm not used to being called out in a crowd. You... said your name was Bucky, right? I should've... I'm sorry if we met before, too. I'm usually better with faces."
