Re: LOKI
The funny thing? Loki didn’t feel like he’d won this round. In fact, he didn’t feel like he’d won any of them so far. If anything, he felt even. Which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. It was just an odd thing. Loki didn’t find himself on level ground with people very often.
When she stepped back, Loki dropped his hands to the side. And then the illusion went up. For a few moments he allowed her to see beyond the facade. He’d shown her honesty. But that was a dangerous game. It didn’t matter if she was with Mobius. That had nothing to do with him. So he put up the veil again. That smug, arrogant glamour of a man who couldn’t be hurt by anyone. Emotionally or otherwise. The guise of the God of Mischief. Impermeable. Impenetrable.
And with that false front, the vexing smile he was known for. “I’d hold my breath but I don’t need to. I know I’m the best. But you have fun getting your feet stepped on, Miss Carter. Thankfully the reset will fix those bruises in the morning.”
