Since it is a void and the most frightful thing anyone has to deal with is their lives put on display, Hugh decided it was a good week to move forward with this project. He's removed any projectors or screens from the main stage in Peaslee, so that they can hold auditions without a show from his (or anyone elses) life disrupting them.
Everyone is welcome and Hugh will note this specifically in his announcements about how they'll proceed. His vision is a community project to work on across resets and eventually bring to the larger group for an evening of entertainment. And he realizes that some people are stepping significantly out of their experience and comfort zone and he's delighted to see you doing it. There will be cookies and coffee afterwards in the lobby. Anyone can bring their own prepared reading, but he will have copies of Much Ado Audition Monologues for people to read.
Anyone is welcome to stay and watch auditions so long as you're quiet - Hugh will kick you out if you're loud.
HOW THIS WORKS
There's a short form to fill out below that mimics the IC form Hugh's gonna give everyone who auditions. For each character that's auditioning put preferred role/roles and OOC information on how they do during the audition.
To throw your character into the ring, this is all you have to do! However, if several characters have the same first choice, I will also consider activity on this post.
Hugh will consider things like physical appropriateness although he is planning on doubling up cast and may genderswap roles along with overall presence on stage.
OOC if two characters list the same preferred character, the number of comments on the IC/OOC overall will impact decision making process. For instance, if two characters fill out the form to play Claudio, and one only does the form, but the other has a twelve comment thread, all other things being equal the character will likely go to the twelve comment thread.
If you aren't familiar with this play this trailer from the delightful 1993 film and this three minute Shakespeare recap ought to help.
Last but not least: if you want a character to be involved, but they wouldn't sign-up on their own - I'm going to throw up a plotting space for you, so all of us can figure out how to get them in!
