Yennefer had never believed in destiny. She liked to think that her choices were her own, and fork some stupid belief that things were meant to be. But finding out that the girl she was supposed to deliver to the Deathless Mother was Geralt's Child of Surprise and running into him at the template had caused her doubts. Ciri's power too. Geralt had told her that Yennefer had been the only one to help her with her powers; that felt like another bit of destiny too.
Still, she wasn't eager to discuss that with anyone other than Ciri and alone.
Ciri gave a sad smile. "Hope's not something I have a lot of anymore."
