Re: SYLVIE.
Steve waited for her to recover from what appeared to be an unexpected bout of surprise before he sat down in the chair beside her. He offered her a hand in greeting before placing a napkin neatly in his lap. He didn’t know if this was one of those fancy kinds of evenings. Some people were dressed to the nines. Others were more casual. But Steve had been raised to have manners and so he did the best with what he had.
“It’s nice to meet you, Sylvie,” Steve said. No sign of judgment. And there wouldn’t be. Steve didn’t realize she was the female Loki. Sam told him there was a Loki who presented as a woman, but Steve hadn’t inquired about who she was. Didn’t seem to be high on the list of priorities when he first arrived. He just wanted to help out those who were injured or confused.
He took a bite of the macaroni, chewed, and swallowed. “Really? Because I think it was kind of embarrassing. Fairly certain it just made a few people angry too. Maybe I’m out of practice giving speeches. Or maybe I was never good at them to begin with.”
