Manifests after day 3 | Armitage Hall near 202 | PG
Rey's ghost is doing a reality warp that comes across as a time loop influenced by the force, featuring her major traumas leading up to her death. This is here for reference if anyone wants to stumble across
her.
⚠Child abandonment, self imposed isolation and a whole lot of murder
Armitage Hall, a towering expanse that might have once given the impression of a warming and inviting space for those interested in the humanities to congregate. Perhaps to some, it still could evoke the welcoming sense. With it's long halls that led to lectern doors, one might be surprised when the scene suddenly morphed away from the academic to scenes of pure memory. On the third day, Rey met her demise just outside of room 202. If one were to stumble passed the invisible barrier where her body had fell, one wouldn't be blamed for thinking they'd stepped out of the confines of Derleth all together, for in the absence of dark hallways is an immediate and blinding expanse of desert. The only true indication that this isn't as it seems is the unending chill that surrounds the scene and the person who unfortunately came upon the ghostly memory.
The initial sound that breaks through is the desperate shriek of a young girl, "No!" Held tightly in the grasp of an alien species, her cries grow louder, demanding the return of a ship that can be seen disappearing further and further into the atmosphere. From there, the memories unfold differently depending upon the person that has stumbled upon them, though the order remains the same. The key difference being that they seem to change depending on the interaction. If a person chooses to remain stationary as a scene unplays, that memory seems to linger, allowing for a longer glimpse into that moment of the life Rey had led. If they barrel ahead and try to interact or to escape by going the wrong way? The scene will change. It is likely that it'd be chaotic and disorienting to most, much like the initial force vision that Rey once experienced herself. Almost as though the memory of such, in tandem with the memories that haunt her the most, are influencing the way the time slips are functioning.
The abandonment on Jakku will morph to eerie silence and darkness that only breaks with the sound of metal bearing down on metal. Console and emergency lights can be seen scattered around the space, as time appears to speed up, infinite scratches seeming to appear in an overwhelmingly claustrophobic space; with at one point a much younger Rey being set center in the room with knees pulled to her chest and head pressed against her kneecaps. Though the source of the voice cannot be seen, "You come from nothing," can clearly be heard. It will snap to a similar moment in a much more open space of a decidingly filthy spaceship's cockpit. If one peers outside of the windshield, dim parking garage lights can be seen above, with at least two other large space vessels barely made out in the distance. Litter is scattered around the cockpit that seems anachronistic to the setting; such as pizza boxes and fast food bags. Rey, perhaps just a few years younger than her appearance at Derleth, sits in the pilot seat with hands slipped up into her hair. Though less claustrophobic in appearance, it feels decidedly more so. Both moments give the distinct feeling of solitude and loneliness. And just as the prior memory, "You are nothing," is accented against the moment.
"But not to me."
A vibrant blue light ignites. The scene changes. Snow is everywhere to be seen and across the way is a man with a red three pronged blade. Lunging forward with no finesse with the blade, clearly trying to protect herself as well as a figure off in the distance, the battle is frantic with either party moving across the snowy landscape. The man advances upon her as she tries to play defense. Trees are sliced through, the pair traverse across hills and rocks, and just as it appears as though the tables may turn and she may have the upper hand? As the man is struck across the face and falls backwards, with fury displayed clear across her face, the scene morphs once again back to what one could assume to be the same desert from the start.
The pair are standing with considerable distance between one another, hands outstretched, but with clear exhaustion and effort displayed across eithers features. Rey's fingers flex and in the distance a ship can be seen struggling to remain in flight, being seemingly pulled between both Rey and the man yards away. Determination crosses over Rey's features, paired with the visible anger towards the man preventing her from her attempt to bring the ship down, and suddenly lightning erupts from her fingertips to shoot all the way up to the ship. It explodes upon impact and a horrific scream escapes from Rey in the shape of a name, "CHEWIE!" Horror and grief plague her features as disbelief in what she'd just done courses through.
"You are a Palpatine."
It shifts once again, quickly, to Rey leaning against a rail, looking down at a bridge. The same man can be seen across from another much older man as darkness descends upon the memory. The vibrant red blade ignites, piercing the older man, and a monstrous roar erupts through the room accompanied by Rey's own cry of disbelief.
And then the steadiness of the rail is gone and ferocious waves engulf the scene, with the ground feeling as unsteady as it had during the snowy battle moments prior. Once again, the red blade is striking against the blue blade as waves threaten to sweep either party away into a chaotic sea. Without warning, the man Rey is dueling comes to an immediate stop, without any explanation as though frozen in his own disbelief - though this may not make sense to any who are watching. Regardless of his sudden immobilization, Rey sweeps up the red bladed saber and pierces through the man just as he'd pierced through the older man a moment prior.
Finally, the last moment is of the very halls of Armitage and of a hand reaching out to take hold of her saber. Yellow light illuminates the room but the assailant remains hidden in shadow. The blade pierces through Rey just as she'd done to the man in the waves moments ago and though it appears as though she says something to her assailant? It is covered up by the hum of Rey's blade and soon after, her body falls back with betrayal and sadness displayed across her features.
