Darcy was caught off guard by his words, especially when she realized he was holding out his hand to her. After a moment of hesitation, she put hers on top of his and gave a little nod, unable to muster up a smile just yet. "It's hard," she said. "I don't feel right talking to some of the people here about Tony. Because he didn't know any of them and... they all knew a very different version of him." One of the reasons the two of them had bonded was because she had no real preconceived notions about him, not having met him at home and only being familiar with his media persona.
"We weren't really taking the whole marriage thing seriously," she added. "Except... right before he left... we talked and..." she trailed off and shrugged. "I don't know. It could have been something. Now I'll never know."
