Ty nodded at his mom. How did he get so lucky? Although, he felt pretty sure his mother hadn't liked Veronica much. In fairness, neither did his dad and his dad liked most people, which should have told him something. "I know. I will. At least I don't have to make popcorn without butter and salt." He went to take a bit of his sandwich before his mother mentioned talking to his teacher.
Few things in life terrified Ty. His mother deciding to talk to the teacher fell squarely near the top of the list. Not so much for him as for the teacher involved. So, he did his best, but knew how pointless it was to say anything.
"Mom. I've already talked to him. I can do an extra credit assignment this weekend, which works for me. I have practice and I'm helping Alina get nominated for Homecoming Queen, but I can get through the assignment tonight and tomorrow. I don't have anything due before next Wednesday." He knew his mom wanted him to run for Homecoming King, but as a Junior, he didn't want to step on any seniors' toes, especially since he still played basketball with them.
