Dean had to grit his teeth to keep from crying out as he was burned. It didn't stay very long, not even enough to hurt too bad, but enough for Puck's message. Except that Dean refused to give in. He held himself up straight and kept his eyes on Puck's.
"What hurts most, Puck? Trying to hurt me or trying so hard to be alone?" Dean shook his head. "I don't believe it. It has none of your spark. It's all an act. Even burning me, that's not the real you."
