Prompt/challenge you're answering: Scar & Fenimore, with a cherry on top
Author's comment: For this crossover, Fenimore is an Ishvalan. :D

"I heard that Havoc's can get anything," Fenimore said.

"Is there something you need? How is the bakery holding up?" Scar didn't take Fenimore for the type to make foolish requests (not that he suspected any of his people of being those sorts, but she was a particularly serious young lady and he could relate to that).

"The bakery is all right," she nodded stiffly, "There have been more Amestrian soldiers interested in our wares these days. It's nice- in theory- but, honestly, it makes me a little nervous."

One of the things about life in Ishval these days was the weight of the inhabitants' past- shared or not. It was generally understood that you didn't ask what had happened to Ishval's returning citizens even if they had been your friends or direct relatives in the days before the civil war. It was up to each person to decide on their own whether or not (and, if so, to whom) they were ready to share their scars.

The man who had gained infamy under the moniker of "Scar" kept his to himself, although some things of his were not as secret as he might have hoped. Fenimore's past were kept closer under lock and key, though Scar had caught sight of some of the physical legacy of the war as it appeared on her upper arms (and presumably more of her body that he simply had never seen) and could guess at some possibilities. The part of her story she didn't hold back was her search for her twin sister, the only member of her immediate family whose death was not a certainty.

"Would you feel more comfortable if I made sure to come by and check in on you around the time the soldiers usually come by?"

Fenimore's dark face showed a hint of a blush for a moment, but she overcame the rush of emotion and managed to keep from looking away from Scar. "I'd like that. I think the other girls would like it too."

"Just pick the time then. It will be a short visit, so there's no doubt I will be able to work it into my schedule."

"So, um, about putting in a request for an order," Fenimore looked around at the stacks of wooden crates nearby, "Who would I talk to about that? You?"

"Myself or Miles, I suppose. ...What is it you'd like?"

"A couple of things, if it's not too much trouble. What we need most of all is more baking sheets and bread pans- I knew from the start that our operation would be sort of haphazard, but demand is starting to exceed the ability of our supplies to handle it. It's not a manpower problem."

"That's a reasonable request. I'll be sure and put it in writing. ...And what else then?"

"They're not as vital, but I was hoping we could get some honey, dried fruit, and cherries- those Amestrian ones out of a can. But I understand if you think that's frivolous," Fenimore said seriously, clasping her hands behind her back.

"Actually," Scar replied, bemused, "We received three jars of honey today that were never specifically ordered. Mr. Havoc has a tendency to tack a little something extra onto the orders of his favorite customers."

"The ones who spend the most money, I imagine," Fenimore gave a small snort.

"I believe the saying is 'don't look a gift horse in the mouth,'" Scar smiled back at her. "I'll help you find them. Everything is a bit mixed up at this point. When we looked for the newest shipment of nails, we found boxes of matches. Some of the labels fell off of the boxes in transit."

"Well, I guess we'd better get to it then."

"I'll see about the dried fruit and cherries too, Fenimore. Just be patient."

"Don't worry," she made a small, bold movement, reaching out to touch the nearer of his impressively muscular arms, "I'm good at waiting."
