Prompt/challenge you're answering: It turns out Blanche is Machi's biggest fan...
Author's comment: Ha ha, I'm beginning to think Machi and Blanche make a good pair.
"Um, excuse me, Mr. Tobaye."
Machi turned stiffly, self-consciously raising one hand to touch the side of his sunglasses. "Mr. Tobaye." He was never going to get used to that. "Ah, yes...?" he answered.
He guessed the brunette standing before him was probably several years his senior. He liked the way she was dressed. It was modest and reminded him of home in a vague European sense. And to top it all off, he had to admit, aside from white, his favorite color was definitely the same turquoise as her ankle-length skirt. "I'm a huge fan of your music." Slowly, she raised her hands, one clutching each side of his most recent CD- his only solo venture. "...I was wondering if you could sign this for me."
She seemed a little shy. He wasn't sure he would ever get used to the idea of other people acting shy or embarrassed around him. It was like that place (or was it more of a phenomenon?) he'd read about in some of the comics Trucy had loaned him. "Bizarro-World." He was supposed to be the awkward one.
He didn't meet many fans like this young woman- his fans tended to be a bit on the older side. They weren't the sorts who asked for autographs either. Even when he played with Klavier, most of the people who also asked for his autograph seemed to be doing so more out of a desire to be polite and include him (or to potentially increase the resale value when they went home and put the album up on Ebay).
"I would be happy to," he agreed, accepting the album and pulling a handy Sharpie marker out of his back pocket (it was useful enough for him to carry it regularly despite the dearth of CD signings before him). "Who should I make to?"
"Blanche, please."
He flung his stylized signature across the cover with a flourish and even gave into the urge to share a small smile with Blanche. "Here you are. I am glad to do this for you."
Blanche's eyes practically sparkled as she took back her CD. "Thank you so much!"
"Is no problem. I hope to see you at concert again in the future."
"I'll certainly try my best to come again."
Machi meant it as much as Blanche did. Somehow he thought few fans would be nicer to see again than her.
