Who: Kat and Tye Where: The hospital When: April 9th What: Kat wakes up
Even though the sedative, they had been injected with just before they were all dragged into the sun. Kat normally loved the sun but in that moment it felt more like a hot spotlight than it did the warm light. It was so hard to focus but she could still see Tye. She had wanted more than anything than to just run to him, to feel his arms around her protecting her. Even if the drugs hadn't prevented that she had known she couldn't. Ajax was talking and his rules were clear. Clear enough that when they had been dragged forward and she saw Tye surge forward she knew they were in trouble. She didn't even have time to react to the way the barbed wire bat cut into Alana when he swung it again and pain blasted through her shoulder. She had screamed and fallen forward in pain. Someone had grabbed her forcing her back to her knees.
she had spared a moment to glance at Alana. the little lioness was bleeding and in pain, the same as her. There was no time to even try to get her attention as they were both grabbed by the hair. she couldn't help the way she cried out as he had dragged them forward. Which was where their captor has revealed his master plan. One of them was going to die. Kat had done her best to swallow her fear. Her eyes shifting to Alana for only a second as she heard her telling her brother that he should pick her to die. Kat did the same he should save his sister. He would never forgive himself if he let his little sister die. he had always protected Alana before he and Kat had even met.
When he said her name the fear grew. She was going to die. Kat barely had a second to tell him she loved him before Ajax was pulling her face to look at him. it was had been the sight of the knife that scared her more than anything. The feeling of it moving over her cheek as he talked. she hadn't been able to stop the way she cried. Then with a flash of the knife, her neck had been opened. She couldn't scream as her hands went to her throat even as he dropped her to the ground. From there there was nothing outside of trying to stem the blood, gasping for breath. She could feel herself losing consciousness with the bloodless.
Kat had no memory of waking in the hospital only minutes before they were going to take her in for surgery and more importantly only minutes before she shifted for the first time in her life. Romance had tranquilized her then. It was necessary for the complete lack of control she had.
All that had been hours, days, ago by the time she started to wake. A small sound escaped her as she shifted. the feel of the sheets on her skin, the sound of machines around her... she was alive. Kat opened her eyes to look around. The hospital. She didn't remember getting here and she had no concept of how long she had been here. Kat's eyes suddenly widened with alarm. her hand moved to her throat, feeling the ridge of a scar there. Scar? How had she healed? What had happened? Where was everyone? She didn't feel any different. What had happened? Where was everyone? Kat moved to start to get up. she needed to find someone.
