WHO: Tamsyn and Siri WHEN: April 8 WHERE: The Book Nook WHAT: Friends being sweet bookworms RATING: Low, low, low STATUS: Ongoing/Open!
Tam cherished the time she got to spend outside her stepfather's house. There were few places she could go without her brothers as "escort", and the Book Nook was one of them. It was hard enough finding time to spend with Tyr outside their ever watchful eyes, one might think having actual friends would be impossible. Surprisingly, her stepfather let her roam with Mellie and Siri, though she suspected that was only because he deemed them "appropriate" company. Whatever his reasons, Tamsyn took full advantage of the time he allotted her away.
Knowing she only had two hours, she didn't dawdle on her way to the store. One second missed was like a lifetime to the swan, and she knew Siri was waiting. Maybe it was a silly pastime, meeting in a book store when you only had limited freedom, but the two swans loved surrounding themselves with books. The smell of them was comforting, and Tam relished the treasures each page held. Getting lost in a story was a way to remove herself from the shackles of her life, if only for a few hours. It was a way to forget how bad things had gotten.
The jingling bell above the door chimed as she arrived, bringing a smile to her face. Such simple pleasures, the things Tam knew she could count on, were a comfort. Spotting a blonde head seated in their favorite nook, she waved to the owner before taking a seat opposite her friend. "Sorry I'm late. Have you been waiting long?"
