SILAS & ASPYN
WHO: Silas & Aspyn (appearance by Ryder) WHEN: Monday Night; Feb. 4th WHERE: The Stark residence. WHAT: Silas comes to ask Pyn a favor. With food to bribe her. RATING: Low. OPEN: No.
Silas had contemplated just texting Pyn to ask her the questions he wanted to ask her, but then thought that it might be easier to just show up at her house (hoping that her crazy uncle wasn't home) with some Chinese food in the hopes of enticing her to play nice. Of course things lately had been much different between them. Almost as if an unofficial cease fire had been called. He had been more aware of the things he said and did around her and always tried to keep his own boys in line when it came to her. Of course they were teenage boys, so the off color jokes that made her roll those pretty little eyes of hers still came out very often, but Silas had pretty much stopped his obnoxious hitting on her. She had said it made her uncomfortable and he wasn't going to be like that towards her. Of course he still flirted, but he had toned it WAY down. Maybe that made him a pussy. He was pretty sure his older brother would say that was so.
He approached the house with the bags of delicious smelling food balanced in his arms. As he arrived at the door, he tried to figure out how to knock with the bags of food in his arms. Frowning he tried to adjust the bags into one arm, as someone RIDICULOUSLY stealthy came up silently behind him.
"Can I help you?" came the gruff voice which made Silas whir, jumping a foot in the air as one of the bags of food slipped from his precarious grasp. The older coyote easily grabbed the bag with lightening quick reflexes, faster then anything Silas had ever seen. "Holy shit!" he exclaimed, impressed with Ryder's abilities. And the fact that he hadn't sensed him at all behind him. Of course Silas, while not the most submissive wolf, was not anywhere near an alpha or dominant. Nor a very talented wolf to begin with. Ryder merely sprocked an eyebrow at the young wolf on his door step.
"I said can I help you?" he repeated, none of his amusement showing on his face or in his curt voice. In fact he looked more annoyed then as amused as he was by the ballsy wolf in front of him. He knew who he was and why he was here. He made Pyn's business his own. He knew who her friends were and he wondered if the change in his niece of late was due to this kid in front of him. Silas recovered and managed to stammer out, "Is P-Pyn home?" Ryder's face never changed as he stared at him without saying anything for a VERY long minute. Silas swallowed hard and tried to smile hoping it would ease this conversation a little bit. It did not.
Instead of answering him Ryder eyed the food in the boy's hands. "She didn't order any Chinese food," he said. Silas shook his head as he answered, "N-no Sir. I just thought she m-might want to share it." Then he added lamely, "With m-me." The boy's stuttering amused Ryder to no end and he wasn't letting off the pressure anytime soon.
"Is that what you thought?" he asked. "Or was it that you thought I wouldn't be home so you could come over and try to take advantage of my niece?" He knew this was NOT the case, but watching the boy squirm was probably the highlight of Ryder's day.
"Oh NO Sir!" Silas quickly tried to reassure him. "I swear we're just friends and I would never-" Ryder cut him off with a hand held up.
"Save it kid, I was young once. I know how it works." Seeing the wolf's eye's widen in panic, Ryder finally moved past him into the doorway opening the front door. "She's upstairs, in her room." He gave the young wolf his best warning stare, not blinking as he talked. "Door stays open, and remember I have excellent hearing." As Silas moved past him and towards the stairs, he added, "And an exemplary sense of smell." Silas' wide eyes seemed to get wider and he tried to move towards the stairs as fast as he could. Ryder called after him, "You do realize that food is the way to a man's heart, not a girl's, right kid?" Silas looked at him with absolutely no words. None. For once in his life the wolf was speechless. Ryder turned away and took a few steps towards his 'office.' He turned to look back at Silas who was on the stairs, still looking back at him, like he was afraid the older coyote might attack him or kick him out.
"And you have the wrong set of equipment for that girl, but A for effort." Silas looked horrified and rushed up the stairs to Pyn's room. The door was open and he paused, knocking on the door before poking his head in.
"Can I come in before your uncle kills me?" He held up the Chinese food. "I come bearing food."
