Terry stuck out her tongue at her father playfully as the server took the check and soon returned with the card and pay stub. She added the tip and signed her money away, bundling up tightly before heading outside to chase after her father. Stepping onto the front porch of the establishment, she had noticed the sun was starting to go down, as well as the temperature.
Sean had so far resisted the urge to light up, instead favoring enjoying the cooling night air. “It’s good to see you.” he told his daughter quietly. “I’m glad you’re doing well.” he added a moment later.
“Same.” Theresa smiled softly, watching a small cloud of breath form from her lips with each word. “I do hope you’ll stay for a bit.”
“Right now, that’s the plan.” he said, smiling at his daughter. “May as well call for that cab. It’s been a long day and I’d like to take that walk then settle in for the night.” he said, stifling a yawn.
Terry nodded, pulling out her cell. “First thing on our to-do list is get you a state-side cell...” She mumbled to herself, spinning on her heel and pacing on the walkway. She dialed the cab service (on her speed dial, naturally) and scheduled a pick up. “They’ll be here in about ten to fifteen minutes. Is that enough of a walk for you? We can continue it on the Institute grounds. Kitty and I were needing to get a Christmas tree, after all...” She winked and playfully nudged her father. “And we’ll need a big-strong fella like yourself to help with it, no doubt!”
Sean just chuckled and side-arm hugged his kid. “With you managing my calendar, I think we’ll do juuuuust fine.” he chuckled.
