The more Remy watched the band (mostly the woman), the more familiar they seemed, and he found himself racking his brain, trying to remember if he'd heard them perform elsewhere. The odds were good. Plenty of artists liked to just do the bar circuit right there in the city. Good crowds, good atmosphere, free alcohol... not much more they could ask for. Especially if the crowd was anything like it was that night.
As the song ended and they started up another, faster one, Remy chuckled, watching as a few people in the crowd recognized the tune and got excited enough for it to catch on with those around them. His attention was drawn to his right, though, as the glasses from the people who'd been sitting where he was were plucked up by one of the bartenders. He turned his head, smile ratcheting up a notch as he noticed that he'd had the luck of getting the younger, much more visually enticing of the two.
"Doin' just great, cher," he replied, turning ever so slightly in his seat to watch her as she moved. Girl didn't seem to slow down for one second. He perked up visibly when she sat a bowl in front of him, and reached in to pluck a piece of popcorn out as he considered the question. "Hm... how 'bout an old fashioned?"
"You always this crowded in the middle of the week?" he flicked the piece of popcorn into his mouth, glancing back over at the band. Maybe the bartender would be able to help him figure out why they seemed so damn familiar. He tipped his head in the direction of the stage, hand creeping to toy with the coaster as he asked, "They play 'round town a lot? Sound awfully familiar but I can't figure out how I heard them before."
