She smiled slightly, tilting her head. "We're not complete;y unprotected, Logan. I've been here almost ten years now, and I've been trained well. A lot of that training came from you." If anything should happen, not that she thought it would, Kitty felt pretty confident that she could keep a cool head and be on top of things. "But I appreciate your being here." She winked. "Takes the pressure off of me if something does happen."
It was the wrong time to take a sip of her cocoa, right as Logan made the quip about a tutu. She covered her mouth with her hand, trying not to laugh but to swallow instead. "I don't wear a tutu," she corrected, laughing when she was able to. "My kids do, but I don't. At least not when I'm teaching." Her eyes narrowed slightly, a thought striking her. "I have a recital on Friday night. My kids are in it, and later on I am in it. Ballet, Hip Hop, and lyrical. I don't expect you to say yes to an invitation, but one is extended to you anyway."
It was true, no one could ever guess when Logan was coming or going. Sometimes Kitty envied the freedom, and other times it made her sad. She cherished the connections she made with people and couldn't fathom just up and leaving them on a whim. But then, she was lucky enough to have all of her memories in tact. Not knowing anything about her own past might drive her to be as restless as Logan was.
"I want to go to Japan," she said wistfully. "I just want to travel, really. I'm twenty-four and the most traveling I've done is within the states. How boring is that?"
At the mention of a Danger Room session, Kitty actually started to get excited. But then Logan's demeanor changed so quickly that she froze as well, only her eyes moving to the doorway. Who else would possibly be up at this hour?
