When she was a teenager, Kitty was known for speaking before thinking. Now there were things she wanted to say but decided to bite her tongue. She looked down at the counter, fingernail tracing a line in the pattern of the marble. She could tell from his intonation that Logan still felt deeply about what had happened at Worthington Industries. Everybody blamed themselves for something from that time. Everyone made choices or didn't make choices in time, and things played out in the way they were apparently supposed to. But blame remained a heavy burden for some.
"Bad feeling?" She glanced up, curious. "You think maybe it's because Ro is gone?" She didn't like Ororo being absent for so long, either. Storm was the one person, terry and Bobby aside, that Kitty trusted with every aspect of her life. She looked at Ororo like a second mother.
The kettle started to whistle and Kitty got up once more. "Haha, very funny. I teach two different computer classes and help out in other classes when I'm needed." She stirred her drink, then stuck the spoon in her mouth to clean it. "I also teach ballet to Elementary school aged kids at a studio in town and just told the director that I wanted a promotion." She returned to her seat and wrapped her hands around the mug. The heat seeped into her fingers and her palms, making her sigh softly. "I do like to surprise people," she echoed quietly.
When Logan said he wasn't staying long, she didn't bother hiding her disappointment. "You'll stay long enough to at least say hi to Ro though, won't you?" Since no one knew when she was returning, it would be an undetermined amount of time. That was just fine with Kitty.
"So tell me something good that happened since the last time I saw you. I feel like I'm blabbering on and on."
