"Someday I will find a way to sneak up on you." She gave into her grin, but didn't move from where she leaned. Logan moved about the kitchen as though he'd never left the mansion. Not that it was at all surprising. He was never the type of person to care about social rules and propriety. It was one of the things she'd always envied about him.
It was impossible not to at least chuckle at the face he made when taking a sip of the soda. "There's stuff more to your liking in the staff kitchen upstairs. And I don't see you for, what, seven years and all you have to say is 'How ya been, kid?'" She moved finally plopping down on a stool across the bar from him, grabbing a piece of chicken for herself. "No, I was awake." Between bites she added, "Can't sleep."
For a few minutes she said nothing and let a comfortable silence fall around them. Logan was not much for words so she was used to the silence with him. When she was younger, Kitty had been a chatterbox and it was hard to get her to shut up. Now that she was older and a bit more mature, she knew better.
After her piece of chicken was done, she tossed the bones in the trash, then propped her hand in her chin. "So, biker guy...how ya been?"
