A lot of people liked to pick on Kitty about her sleeping habits, or perhaps her lack thereof. She was always so busy and it seemed like the hour didn't matter, Kitty would be up. Theresa was the one who said something most often, though she knew it was out of concern. Tonight it wasn't a busy schedule or a soon-to-be-due assignment that had her away. Tonight it was the simple fact that her mind just would not shut down. She'd crawled into bed around midnight, careful not to wake her roommate, and probably got an hour of sleep before waking up and not being able to fall back to sleep. Sheer frustration drove her to get up, grab a bag that sat by her nightstand, and quietly leave the room.
If sleep was not going to come she would just have to make the best of it. Though a long break was coming up, she wanted to get a head start on thinking of assignments for next term at Xavier's, as well as thinking about what to teach at the studio. Just a few days ago she spoke to the director about teaching older kids, maybe even adults. The seed was planted in the woman's mind, and all Kitty could do now was wait and hope.
With purple flannel pajamas on and slippers on her feet, she headed for the kitchen on the first floor. Hot chocolate sounded like good company for a late night (or early morning) session of thinking and planning. She walked down the hall, noiseless, pulling her long brown hair up into a ponytail. A light from the kitchen doorway stopped her in her tracks, blue eyes staring. Had she really just seen something, or was it her imagination?
On tip toes, she walked closer to the kitchen and poked her head around the corner. Who she was was not at all who should would have been expecting, and Kitty was torn between launching herself at Logan to hug him, or to just wait until his fine tuned senses picked her up. Deciding to play it casual, she leaned against the door frame and crossed one ankle over the other, her arms crossing over her chest. Though she tried to, she couldn't prevent a smile from twitching at the corners of her lips as she waited.
