Now this was a game she was not entirely pleased with playing. At least, not when she was not the only player. Perhaps she was educated but that hardly meant she enjoyed thinly veiled banter. It stopped being fun when she was given back what she was dishing out. Still, she leaned in as well with all traces of humor leaving her expression. "Something tells me you're afflicted with a grotesque amount of something but it certainly isn't emotion." She took another sip of her coffee. "I've been running this shtick going on eight years now so I'll take that as a compliment."
It was true. She had it down to a science now. There weren't many people she couldn't bend to her will just by a simple flutter of eyelashes, a smile, or a flash of skin. And that was just fine with Laura.
"Thanks for buying me breakfast." Her hand wrapped around the bag and she began to rise. "Time for me to get going. It's been a pleasure."
