It wasn't like Kitty enjoyed being an emotional person. For the most part she was able to keep herself in check and be able to let things go when she was by herself. This was the exception, and a rare one at that. There was just so much going on inside her head that control over her emotions was just not possible. As Warren left to get coffee, Kitty tried to calm herself and dry her eyes. It was times like this that she really missed Bobby. He'd never leave her like this. He'd be hard pressed to leave at all if she was upset. He was a good sounding board, a person she'd always been able to go to with anything. She in this moment it was almost painful to think of how much she missed him and wished he was there. That was why she and Warren would never work. He needed someone less prone to tears than Kitty was, and she needed someone who could be there with her when the weak moments hit.
Taking a deep breath, she moved over on the couch to the spot Warren just vacated. She reached for his laptop and got rid of the screen saver to see a few different windows waiting on the toolbar. One was The Home Depot, another was Lowes. There was a dance supply website and an office supply store. These things made her smile through the emotions she struggled with. Warren was nothing if he wasn't thorough. She took the folder beside the computer and thumbed through it to find a few sheets of blank paper. Then she grabbed a pen from her purse and began surfing, writing things down as she went: things she wanted, how much they would cost, colors, everything she could think of. Work on this would begin as soon as was possible.
By the time Warren came back in Kitty was back to her normal composed self, her expression quite serious as she wrote things down. "So start up costs," she said, adding a thanks as she accepted the coffee he offered. "How does that work? Am I footing the bill for that, are you adding it on to my total, do I get a certain amount of help and then I'm on my own?" These were things she needed to know before any type of purchasing could be done."
