So it really was Xavier. June's eyes widened slightly when he looked at her. She knew how important this man was to all the X-Men and to Kitty especially. This was going to make them all so happy. She wanted to take his hand and run him to the mansion right now! He said he wouldn't hurt her but June knew that already. Xavier would never hurt anyone if it could be avoided, least of all a child. He was a person people could feel safe around and trust. At least that was what she'd always been told. And though June was inherently afraid of all men as a rule, she always longed for a father-figure who would allow her to feel safe. Hope sprang up inside and she she bit her bottom lip, smiling as she did so.
She left her bike leaning up against the railing and walked around through the gate instead of going through the bistro itself and outside. He called her dear one and it made her feel warmth toward him. "I'm a student at Xav...at your school. My name is Juniper Ellison Leigh but everyone just calls me June." It was taking all her control not to pull out her borrowed cell phone and call someone back at the mansion. "I'm a mutant, sir." She looked around nervously. There were mixed feelings on mutants these days and she didn't want to draw any unwanted attention.
It looked like no one was even taking any notice of them. Good. She looked back at Xavier and smiled. "Everyone will be so happy to see you. Especially Kitty and Professor Munroe." They were the only two that she knew of that had been around when Xavier was there. Well there was Cyclops too but she decided not to mention him. Not yet. "May I ask a question?" Her eyes went to the marks on the side of his face and her voice lowered. "What happened?"
