It was hard for Willow to slow down her reading so she'd appear normal; the way her brain worked allowed her to skim things and pick up main points without missing a single detail. Reading the paper at a normal pace was proving to be somewhat difficult. She found herself rereading articles just to slow down the page turning process. It was at the moment she was flipping through the Local/Business section that she realized there were eyes on her. Blue eyes, to be exact, sitting in a cherub face framed by blonde hair. She was doing her best not to be obvious, but now that she knew the girl was looking, it was hard for Cadence to ignore her.
She skimmed the page she was on before reaching for her tea. As she took a long sip, she looked around her casually, as anyone might sitting outside. Her eyes wandered the streets until they finally rested on the girl. When they met gazes, her smiled at her warmly. "Hello," she greeted in a rich tenor, British with a hint of Scots underneath. This had to be played very carefully. Appear too friendly and she'd just make Xavier look like some creepy old man. Act too uninterested and the girl would probably move on. The way she watched him suggested she knew who Xavier was. She didn't appear old enough to be a student of his when he was still alive, yet Cadence knew better than almost anyone that appearances were not always the best things to go by.
"Isn't it nice to see no more snow on the ground?" His eyes wrinkled in delight as he looked around once more. Truly, it was a thing for anyone to be happy about. "Winter here always feels like it will stay long past its time." He looked at the girl again, his serene expression unchanged. "If you're buying flowers I would recommend the white lilies. They look to be the freshest." He picked up the paper once more, and went back to reading.
