Watching the way she moved and adjusted everything he couldn't help but smile. "Ya know, ya don't have ta protect me. It's adorable that ya do though." Damn if she hadn't grown up and filled out on him. It didn't escape him how that t-shirt clung to her, showing off the shapes and curves of her torso and chest. A very ample chest. Fuck.. stop looking. Logan knew it wasn't noticeable, after all he knew how to watch someone without being detected. He wanted it to feel wrong, to look at her like that, but it didn't. That was when he knew he was in a shitload of trouble.
That made his brow shoot up. "Outta yer reach? Darlin', ya couldn't be more wrong. Just happened ta be at the time you were a kid, and I was more concerned with my past than I was anything else. Including Jean. I may of been glad ta see her, but it wasn't her I came back to that school fer. Came back there a girl that believe in me, saw a hero when all I felt like was a monster. So bein' outta yer reach, that was never the factor. Fact is I couldn't watch ya grow up." Logan snorted. "That's bullshit. Everyone there has something that could be potentially dangerous fer anyone else. It was wrong of them ta single ya out just because they witnessed something. That ain't how things are suppose ta work."
If he was a blushing man, he would of turned beat red at her omission. "Fall fer me huh?" He cast a sideways glance at her and smiled. Her love was an honest one, without conditions and stipulations, no games. There would be no competition with someone else for her heart, that was one thing he knew. Maybe that was what scared the hell out of him. But then she was getting out of bed and he raised a brow.
Logan heard some noises and wondered just what the hell she was up to but he didn't move. Then she started talking and he got up, leaning in the doorway as she spoke. Logan was surprised, girl went and got talented on him. But he was even more shocked by the fact she thought of him when she heard a song. He wasn't really sure what he expected but stood there, arms crossed over his chest, leaning in the doorway and watched her from behind as she played. Then her voice joined and he smiled softly, listening to the words.
Wasn't often that Logan was moved, or touched in an emotional capacity. Usually it took something drastic to effect him at all. But right now, she had him completely screwed up in a way he wasn't sure he had ever been. Tears didn't fall, but he did feel them burning his eyes. When she finished he didn't move, didn't speak, just letting the moment dwindle on. I'm in trouble. Truth was he couldn't find his voice. Silently he padded across the room and stopped behind her. Without a word he slipped an arm around her back, the other under her knees and scooped her up, carrying her back to her room.
He laid her down on the bed and sat so he was facing her, right beside her. His voice was soft, well as soft as he could make it. "I could never be out of your reach." His jaw clenched a moment, he knew what he wanted to do right then and there. And him holding back had nothing to do with her skin. Logan growled softly and licked his lips. "Darlin', you make me wanna do things ta you that would scare the hell out of ya."
